Balance issues are more common than people think, and they’re one of the biggest risk factors for falls. Often it comes down to things like muscle weakness, joint stiffness, vision changes, or inner ear problems. The good news is that balance can be improved.

Physical therapy can help strengthen the muscles that support stability, improve coordination, and reduce the risk of falls.

Our free Cancer Care Exercise Program, paid for by the NEW Community Health Foundation, is in its final weeks, and we’re grateful to be part of so many recovery journeys. Led by Jara Soost, LAT, ATC, and Chris Clouston, DPT, this program helps participants rebuild strength, improve mobility, and regain confidence during and after cancer treatment.

Classes run through April 16, every Tuesday and Thursday from 12:00–1:00 PM. If you’d like to join before this session ends, call (307) 682-4900.

Lifting overhead shouldn’t hurt every time. If your shoulder hurts when you reach up, it could be coming from tight muscles, weakness, poor mechanics, or irritation in the joint itself. That pain usually doesn’t go away by just avoiding it forever.

The good news is that with the right treatment, you can improve mobility, build strength, and get back to moving without that sharp pinch every time you lift your arm.

Ever stand up after sitting for a while and your knees feel stiff or sore? When you stay in one position too long, the joints and surrounding muscles tighten up and circulation slows down. Your knees aren’t meant to stay still for hours. They’re meant to move.

Simple things like getting up more often, stretching, and strengthening the muscles around the knee can make a big difference. And if the pain keeps coming back, physical therapy can help address the root cause. (307) 682-4900
