🌍 World Mental Health Day — October 10th 🌍

This year’s theme is:
Overwhelm — when global events and relentless bad news become too much.

Constant exposure to crises can leave us anxious and drained. While we can’t control everything happening in the world, we can protect our resilience. One of the simplest tools is always with us: our breath.

10 Science-Backed Benefits of Slow, Nasal Breathing 💙

- Boosts oxygen efficiency & energy – more usable oxygen with less effort.
- Supports heart health & blood pressure – calming your cardiovascular system.
- Improves blood sugar balance – lowering stress-driven spikes.
- Calms anxiety & panic attacks – restoring CO₂ tolerance and easing fear.
- Promotes deep, restorative sleep – activating “rest and digest” mode.
- Strengthens Heart Rate Variability (HRV) – building resilience to stress.
- Sharpens focus & memory – supporting mental clarity and decision-making.
- Relieves nasal congestion & increases nitric oxide – aiding immunity and energy.
- Builds stress tolerance – improving emotional stability over time.
- Supports pregnancy & postpartum recovery – lowering stress hormones and enhancing well-being.

Protecting Your Mind in Overwhelming Times 🌱

- Limit news exposure and take digital breaks.
- Practice slow, gentle breathing daily.
- Anchor yourself in routines that bring calm.
- Remember: asking for help is a strength.

💡 Good mental health isn’t automatic — it’s something we can nurture, one breath at a time.

October 10 is World Mental Health Day!

Your mental health matters—just as much as your physical health. Taking care of your mind is essential to living a healthy, balanced life.

That’s why the Foundation’s Hope Source program is here for our neighbors in northeast Wyoming. Hope Source provides critical financial assistance for mental health counseling, ensuring that people can continue therapy and counseling without interruption. Since its inception in 2024, Hope Source has helped more than 120 community members access the care they need—because no one should have to choose between their mental health and their financial stability.

Today and every day, let’s remind one another:
• It’s okay to ask for help.
• Support is out there.
• You are not alone.

Together, we can break the stigma and build a healthier, more compassionate community.

This little guy impresses me every time I see him. The picture on the left was taken at our initial evaluation, the picture on the right was taken after 4 sessions. Why is that so impressive you may think, well let me tell ya.
If we can not get our tongue to “suction” to the roof of the mouth, we will have trouble with proper tongue posture (our whole tongue should lightly rest on the roof of the mouth), it helps with nasal breathing, and with our swallow. Now look at the picture again, do you see why I am so impressed 😊
