Big life update: Teigan will be switching to different summer hours so she can spend more time at her kids’ travel games and races — they’re growing up so fast and you can't miss these moments. Her weekdays will be reduced to Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and scheduled Mondays. She will still be available for urgent messages and crisis support. The voicemail and emails will continously be monitored. Thanks for your understanding and support — it means everything as she balances work and family in this season of her life.

What can you do to ensure your appointments? Book your sessions several sessions out to ensure your spot! Don't forget, we have Heather who is an excellent counselor and has multiple openings!

Aspire is committed to continued learning. So, as I've been gone two weeks this month there's this lingering question. Why should counselors attend conferences? Here's the long and short of it.

Counselors attend conferences to stay current, effective, and connected in a field that’s always evolving. Mental health research, treatment approaches, and ethical standards change over time, and conferences provide access to the latest evidence-based practices so we can offer the best possible care to our clients.

They also create opportunities to learn new skills—whether it’s a therapeutic technique, a specialized intervention, or a deeper understanding of specific populations. This continued learning directly benefits our clients by expanding our tools and perspective.

Equally important is connection. Conferences bring us, as professionals, together to share ideas, discuss challenges, and build a sense of community. Counseling can be demanding work, and being around others who understand that experience helps prevent burnout and supports our professional growth.

Finally, we as counselors are required to complete continuing education to maintain our licensure. Conferences offer a meaningful way to meet those requirements while gaining practical, real-world knowledge—not just checking a box.
In short, when we attend conferences, we are investing in better care, stronger skills, and a healthier professional community—all of which come back to benefit the people we serve.

Thanks to each of our clients who trust us with their care. We couldn't do it without you.
