We love our good horses who are getting old. ❤️
To the Good Horse Getting Old:
I’m thankful for the old horse, I don’t mind the maintenance or extra groceries. I’m happy to be their steward and caretaker. They always have a space in my pasture with green grass and alfalfa to eat, a soupy mash, and some ice on their softball sized knees. The old horse is wise and kind and young in spirit. He’s not ready to slow down quite yet despite his aging body. I’m thankful for the old horse and the life lessons that they teach, the knowledge they possess, and the weight that they’ve carried. If it weren’t for the old horse, I wouldn’t be able to ride the young, wild, and free. The old horse is patient and willing and a honest teacher paving the path to the young, horse loving girl to pursue her dreams. The old horse is worth their weight in gold and deserves a soft place to land for their years of devotion. I’m thankful for the old horse that reminds me to slow down and enjoy time with them while they’re here and reminisce on rides from their younger days. Here’s to the good old horse that only gets sweeter with age.
