This November, during Native American Heritage Month, we honor the strength, knowledge, and lived traditions of Indigenous communities across our four-state region.

Across the ancestral lands of the Osage, Kaw, Quapaw, Cherokee Nations, and many other Nations, we recognize that community health is deeply connected to culture, history, and care practices passed down through generations.

Indigenous communities have long led the way in holistic approaches to wellbeing, supporting body, mind, family, and community through care that centers respect, connection, and belonging.

We honor these traditions and encourage our communities to learn from and uplift the voices, stories, and wellness practices of Indigenous people this month and every month.

Menopause affects millions, yet it’s still surrounded by myths, stigma, silence, and gaps in health care.

During Menopause Awareness Month, we want to normalize talking about symptoms (hot flashes, mood shifts, bone & heart health), push for provider education, and ensure access to evidence-based care and hormone therapies. 💟

As we near the end of National Health Education Week, let’s be real: states that push abstinence-only s*x education consistently see higher teen pregnancy and STI rates than states with comprehensive education.

We’ve all been teenagers, so we know that teens will do what they want regardless of what they’re told, but they still deserve accurate, judgment-free information to protect themselves and make informed choices. Shame, silence, and misinformation don’t keep anyone safe. Real education does. 📚💙

By bringing World Vasectomy Day to Kansas City, we are able to dramatically expand access to patients on this side of Missouri — demand was high and appointments filled up quickly," said Dr. Lydia Prevost, Staff Physician, Planned Parenthood Great Plains. “Vasectomies are an easy, permanent, and responsible option, and today we are able to ensure that cost and geography aren’t barriers for patients and families choosing this option for contraception.”
