Burrows Johnson Timmons Genealogy

Burrows Johnson Timmons Genealogy William D. Burrows "Hopewell" Kenton, Delaware Very proud to be the 9th generation of Burrows to reside in the state of Delaware.

I am very proud to know my daughter's are the 10th generation, my grandchildren the 11th generation. The Burrows found there way from England to James City (Jamestown) to Henrico Virgiinia, to New Town (Chestertown Md.) to Kenton Delaware, Oppoquinimok (as pronounced in the 1600's) to Nanticoke Hundred, to New Town (Chestertown Md.) to Kenton Delaware, then to Newark Delaware to almost 400 plus years till today to the 21st Century United States of America. We are just the Delaware Clan and I hope to find Others who made their way to South Carolina, Massachusettes, to Ohio, Texas all the way to California. Burrows through and through we are Proud American's!

William Floyd was born on Long Island on December 17, 1734. His family had emigrated to America in 1654 and by the time of his birth were well established and wealthy. Though he might have received the best education, his father died when he was in his teens, and William was required to take over th...

Sad News: William D. Burrows headstone at Bryn Zion Cemetery, Kenton, De. Is gone. No remains of it is left. It stood for over 150 years (est) without any damage. So over the past two years since my last visit, it has vanished like it never stood there. I am heart broken. I PM the Curator of the cemetery with no response. Do anyone have any history on when the Two Cemeteries on 330 Kenton were vandalized and why wasn't it reported.I am still trying to digest this for when I was there last week it was as we lost him all over again. Another note: the Curator didn't even leave the One for us to fix, just bull dozed in a pile with the ones they bull dozed by the field. (The Streets stones are gone too. Many large stones turned on sides.

I do not know how to interpret yDNA findings. My 2nd Great Grandfather, John Wesley Timmons, never knew who his father was. Trying to track down some likely surnames. Attached is My brother's yDNA-37. His is on the bottom. The top is the yDNA-37 of a Ratliff descendant. They have a 34 of 37 match. Annanias Timmons 1872-1954 from Ross Co., OH married a Ratcliff. I don't think her DNA would show up on the yDNA tho?? Anyone have any thoughts on how these 2 families could be related?

It sure has been a while since catching up on my Genealogy lately, last year was a rough year Health wise, waiting for the weather to break to start traveling and researching, will post information as I come across what is new, for the Burrows I am looking for where William D. Lived as a child, did he live with the Sears, or did he travel to Ohio with the Burrows/Clow clan. Also, looking to get into records of the Loyalist side of the family... With a William being tried for treason and his property confiscated by the Delaware gov't, but later a court docket was shown to obtain the land bank, wanting to research more on Thomas and his Children, along with a William Burrows out of Milford who housed as guest our William and Sarah. Being from Kenton, I believe the children got involved with Chaney Clow and the rebellion, a Burrows daughter was married to Chaney Clow, I believe to be Thomas's daughter, again, was Our GGGGGrandfather, who was shot, treated by a doctor, then died, again I have found record of his brother John shooting him, did this has to do with the Rebellion? More research is needed, but at least you know where I am headed.
