Today our team had the profound honor of participating in an Honor Walk for Bill Hiltner from Park City whose final act reflected a lifetime of generosity.

As staff quietly lined the halls in respect, Mr. Hiltner was surrounded by the love of his family and community. In the midst of unimaginable loss, his wife, Jamie, shared a powerful message: “I would encourage everyone to sign up to be an organ donor.” She told us Bill was always giving to others, and this was no different.

Because of this selfless decision, Bill’s legacy will live on through the lives he will help save and heal. Moments like today remind us of the extraordinary compassion that exists even in the hardest of circumstances. We are deeply grateful to Bill’s family for their courage, their generosity, and for allowing others the gift of hope.

Please consider honoring Bill’s legacy by registering as an organ donor at registerme.org. 💚

The T.J. Regional Health Wound Care Center is an outpatient treatment center for people with nonhealing wounds, such as diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, traumatic wounds, and ulcers caused by circulation problems. We also serve inpatients at T.J. Samson Community Hospital and T.J. Health Columbia.

Dr. Lee Carter is leading the wound care team at T.J. where he provides expert, compassionate care. He is joined by our experienced nurse practitioners, Micah Tracy and Nikki Sherfey.

Our specially trained doctor, nurse practitioners and nurses will provide a comprehensive, individualized course of treatment by studying the local and systemic factors.

We are so proud of this historic milestone and what Shanti Niketan Hospice Home means to this community!

A Historic Milestone for Shanti Niketan Hospice Home

During our recent 5-year anniversary celebration, the TJ Community Mission Foundation was honored to announce that the $3.5 million campaign to build Shanti Niketan Hospice Home is officially complete.

What began in 2015 as the “Love Makes This House a Home” campaign became a true community effort. Over the years, 1,290 individuals, families, and businesses contributed gifts both large and small to help bring this vision to life.

Because of their generosity—and a final gift commitment received just weeks ago—the funds needed to fully retire the construction loan for Shanti Niketan have now been secured.

Since opening in 2020, Shanti Niketan has provided care and comfort for more than 275 patients and their families, offering a peaceful, home-like setting for hospice care in our region.

This home stands as a testament to what can happen when a community comes together with compassion and purpose.

When the campaign began, we said “Love Makes This House a Home.”

Today we can say with confidence that love truly made this house a home.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible.

T.J. Regional Health Again Named One of Kentucky’s Best Places to Work

T.J. Regional Health has once again been recognized as one of the Best Places to Work in Kentucky, marking the third consecutive year the organization has received the honor in the large-sized employer category. The recognition is presented by the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and the Kentucky Society for Human Resource Management, with the selection process administered by Workforce Research Group.

The award is based on a comprehensive evaluation that includes a review of company policies and workplace practices, along with the results of an anonymous employee survey measuring team member engagement and satisfaction. T.J. Regional Health was one of only 30 organizations statewide selected in the large employer category.

“A great workplace is built by people who care about one another and the community they serve,” said Neil Thornbury, CEO. “I’m incredibly proud of our team and grateful for the culture they continue to foster at T.J. Regional Health. This recognition reflects their dedication to supporting one another while delivering exceptional care to our patients.”

Amy Neighbors shares a powerful reminder: listen to your body and don’t ignore symptoms.

When Amy began experiencing concerning symptoms, a Colonoscopy helped doctors find the problem—and it ultimately saved her life.

Her story is a powerful example of why early detection matters. If something doesn’t feel right, talk to your provider. It could make all the difference.💙
