Last week, Amplify Program Manager and HOPE Trainer Sam Forbes, along with Su***de Prevention Program Manager Nicole Bengston, attended CREC Bloomfieldโs โBe Kind to Your Mindโ Day.
We had dozens of meaningful interactions with youth in grades 6โ12โwho loved spinning the wheel and reflecting on questions like:
โจ What characteristics make for a trusted adult?
โจ What is something you do that makes you feel proud?
By the end of the day, our Building Blocks board was filled with their insights, experiences, and strengths.
Hereโs the message we shared:
Be intentional about recognizing and building positive experiences. The research shows that the more of these experiences you have, the more likely you are to:
โข Graduate college
โข Earn higher income
โข Experience less depression
โข Reduce your risk for chronic disease
Huge shoutout to CREC for creating space to prioritize youth mental health and well-beingโwe love seeing a full day dedicated to helping young people thrive. ๐

Amplify values continuing education and strengthening our prevention networks. ๐ We are proud to share that Partnership for Success (PFS) Coalition Leaders, Abbie Gallagher and Peyton Beiter, recently traveled to Baltimore, Maryland to attend the National Center on Youth Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery Conference.
This national event brings together stakeholders, practitioners, and community leaders from across the country to address one of the most pressing public health issues facing young people today: alcohol and other drug use.
We are excited to welcome Abbie and Peyton back and look forward to learning from the valuable insights and knowledge they gained to help strengthen prevention efforts in our community!

Amplify is proud to help promote an important community event happening this Monday, March 30th at 6:00 PM in Vernon.
Join a screening of Beautifully Broken, followed by a live Q&A with Jared Buchanan, a su***de loss survivor, who will share his story and perspective.
This event aligns with our work in Vernon to support su***de prevention through community education, especially for parents and caregivers. Opportunities like this help raise awareness of warning signs, risk factors, and how to support those who may be struggling.

We strengthen the ability of the North Central Region to assess needs, develop plans, and advocate for strategies and resources to advance healthy communities.
We are the Regional Behavioral Health Action Organization for the 37 towns that make up the North Central region of Connecticut.
We support Local Prevention Councils (LPCs) in prevention efforts, regional Consumer Advisory Councils (CACs), and Way To Go CT. The CACs promote leadership skills for adults in recovery and focus on topics that benefit adults with psychiatric and/or addictive disorders.
Way To Go CT is a mobility management program for disabled and elderly people.
History:
Amplify was formerly known as the East of the River Action for Substance Abuse Elimination (ERASE) and the North Central Regional Mental Health Board (NCRMHB). ERASE was the regional action council that focused on substance abuse prevention services and coordinated efforts to improve services and leverage funds to meet the prevention and wellness needs of youth and their families.
The North Central Regional Mental Health Board (NCRMHB) was one of five regional mental health boards established by the Connecticut General Assembly in 1974 to study local needs, evaluate state funded mental health programs and make recommendations to the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS), local providers, and government officials for improved and/or expanded services.
Amplify, Inc. continues to involve local people living with mental health or substance use disorders, family members, and others who know and care about them in its review, evaluation, planning and advocacy activities.
