The trauma was not your fault.
A little louder for those in the back: THE TRAUMA WAS NOT YOUR FAULT. You didn’t wear an outfit that caused this to happen, you didn’t invite the abuse, you didn’t enable a person - we ALL have free will and decision making skills. Maybe your abuser manipulated your mind into thinking you were in the wrong but I’m here to say one more time YOU DIDN’T DESERVE THE PAIN. Now it is time to un-do the deeply imbedded thought processes and patterns in behavior to come out the other side stronger, happier and knowing damn well who you are ❤️

I’m a 🤓 at heart who LOVES to organize rooms and spaces. I used to dump all my things out in my room just to reorganize it again. Now my kids do that for me 😆😆

This prompt came up in my class the other day and it was powerful for a group of teens to begin thinking of all these labels. Saddened to hear some of them but overjoyed at others. It is AMAZING when we stop and think about what we believe about ourselves and how words and labels STICK to us. Time to flip the script and consciously decide our identity.

Look inside yourself for the answers. Clear off all the dust and clutter (other people’s expectations and labels) and tune in to what YOU want. Then, speak it, practice it, work it into existence. Make sure you also accompany it with a ‘why’ - the universe responds much faster that way.

Have a hard time meditating? I did too! But I stopped labeling meditation as sitting on a pillow with my eyes closed. Meditation is: a walk in the woods, a quiet car ride, yoga, a nice bath, creating art, journaling or a day away alone. Anytime to just BE without distractions.
What’s your favorite way to ‘tune in’?
For me- it’s a guided meditation, quiet car ride or yoga.

I T ‘ S O K A Y ! !
Goals do not happen overnight, habits are hard to make and harder to break. You need to keep your mind positive and keep going (not start again). Keep making little changes, I often say to ADD in something, not restrict yourself. Add in more water, more outside time, more family time etc. then it ‘crowds out’ what no longer serves. Chase what does feel good, inside and out. Share your progress below in the comments by dropping an emoji:
