Does this sound all too familiar?

My mother left this world a few months ago and since then, my father's health has been in decline. He was diagnosed with dementia before her passing, but since then the confusion, anger, and discomfort seems to have gotten even worse. I'm caring for him with very little outside help and every day feels like an uphill battle.

Caregiving can be isolating, but other people in your community may be going through very similar circumstances. Community support groups serve to connect people facing similar life challenges. Joining one can help you find other people who understand and let you know you’re not alone.

Worrying about your loved one and imagining worst case scenarios 🚫
Doing a quick safety check for peace of mind ✅

Caregivers, roll this safety checklist into your spring cleaning routine to take some common worries off your mind. Many of these tasks need to be done periodically or semi-annually, so pairing them with another routine like spring cleaning can really help ensure it gets done and you can remember when you last did it. For those times when it starts to creep back into your mind, you can rest knowing there are fresh batteries in the smoke detector.

What tips do you have for keeping your home safe for your loved ones?

Tomorrow is National Pet Day – so let’s celebrate our pets!

What does your pet mean to you and your loved one? Share your story with us and a picture of your fluffy companions!

Our team members have already shared some snaps of their furry friends.

Animals are therapeutic. They bring us joy when we need it and can help us through the hard times as well. They have a calming effect to help us relax.

We have heard many caregivers say walking your dog is one of the few precious moments in your day. Having a pet in the house is beneficial to caregivers, and they can also be wonderful for our loved ones who need comfort of a dear furry friend.

Baseball season is here, and this year it is not only the next batter up.

The Richmond Flying Squirrels inaugural season at CarMax Park kicked off this week, and the CareScout Power Tower made its debut.

The Power Tower is the only vertical LED display in minor league baseball, adding a unique element to the stadium. The tower is also a critical component of the park's accessibility access as it connects fans of all abilities to the left field amenities via lift.

We hope to see you there this season!

April is National Volunteer Month!

Share your experience volunteering. How did you help contribute and what impact did it have on your life?

Whether it's through your local food bank, animal shelter, nature park, library, or nonprofit organization, there are so many ways to get involved. And so many good feelings to share when you volunteer. 🫶

Giving your time and energy to others might be better for your own well-being than you may think. Recent studies have shown that volunteering can help combat loneliness and improve mental health, especially when it gives you the opportunity to connect with others.💜

🚨 New product announcement 🚨
Introducing the CareScout Guilt Blocker™
Designed to block:
❌ Guilt for taking breaks
❌ Guilt for asking for help
❌ Guilt for not doing it all perfectly
April Fools 😉
We don’t actually have a Guilt Blocker — but we wish we did!

Caregivers do so much, and making ourselves feel badly about it doesn’t help, and we don’t deserve it. But it can be hard to go easy on yourself.

This is why self-care and support are so important. Don’t be a “fool” April's or otherwise, and try to do it all while carrying all that self-criticism on our heads.
