Roots is growing yet again!

Introducing Tim, our newest massage therapist on staff at Roots! Tim is a 2017 graduate of Lotus Professional College and holds years of experience in spa, clinical, and private practice settings

Clients describe Tim’s style of work as “no nonsense” with strong and thoughtful pressure. He focuses with deep attention on the individual’s self-described trouble areas and seeks to fully understand and fully remedy the root cause.

Outside the treatment room, he enjoys making art, listening to music or comedy, and cultivating meaningful connection.

Hi everyone! There are so many new faces since I last introduced myself in 2022. I’m Annie, the founder of Roots Massage & Bodywork. 🤗

Perhaps not much has changed on the surface since the beginning of Roots, but many factors, including the blessing of operating my business, has made waves within me. I still enjoy working out, dancing, creating photographic works of art, cooking, and gardening: most importantly, the centerpiece to all of my interests and who I am is Jesus Christ. Over the years, my clients of all walks of life and various faith backgrounds have come to know the integral role of my relationship with the Lord in my business from the start of Roots, and He continues to shape and strengthen the foundation as we go.

As we continue to serve our regular clients and expand our reach, I want to say thank you. Your belief in the quality of service we provide and your eagerness to share about the level of care we standardize has stretched across central Virginia and beyond. The gift of providing care for people in this way is and always will be a blessing to me, by God’s grace. 🙏🏻

We will be taking a summer break from yin yoga classes. The schedule will pick back up come fall after Labor Day! That being said, we are still offering yin yoga on an “as requested” basis. If you would like to book for yourself or a couple friends, send us a message via Instagram or our website’s contact form. We will happily get you scheduled for some summer unwind time.

‼️ New offering alert! ‼️

Ginger is leading a new project and will begin offering yin yoga sessions starting Thursday, December 7th at 7:30pm! 🧘‍♀️

Yin yoga is a slow moving type of yoga where poses are primarily passive and held for an extended period of time. Participants can expect to be welcomed to a still environment to clear the mind, calm the breath, and cultivate space in the body. Mats and props are provided; feel free to bring a treasured pillow or blanket!

She is starting her classes on a donation basis, recommending a value between $15-$30 per person. We have space for up to three participants per class, and yin yoga is bookable on our website just like all other massage sessions. 🤓

Ginger has been offering Thai yoga bodywork sessions for a few weeks, and we’d like to give you the inside scoop!

Thai massage is a form of bodywork similar to assisted stretching incorporating yoga-based poses.
Ginger uses a cushioned mat on the floor as the workspace and will combine compressions, stretching and lengthening, spinal decompression, twisting, and traditional massage to invite more space throughout the body. Clients can expect to leave the mat feeling open, mobile, and refreshed.

Clients should wear or bring a set of a clothes they wear for working out or doing a yoga class.
