🏠 Storm Preparation Tips

⚠️ Central Virginia Severe Weather Alert – Monday, March 16

A First Alert Weather Day has been issued with the potential for damaging winds, large hail, and possible tornadoes across our region.

The most active storm period is expected between 3 PM and 6 PM.

Here are a few quick things should do today:

✔ Bring in outdoor furniture and decorations
✔ Secure trash cans and loose items in the yard
✔ Park vehicles away from large trees
✔ Check gutters and drains for blockages
✔ Charge phones and backup batteries
⚡ Power outages and hazardous travel may occur during the storm window.

If you see downed power lines or property damage, contact local authorities immediately.

Please stay weather aware and keep your family safe .

Monday March 16, 2026 we will be closed out of an abundance of caution for our patients, staff, and students safety. If you need something medical during this time please reach out via voicemail, text or portal with your concerns. Depending on electricity and internet availability we will do our best to respond as quickly as possible.

We apologize for the inconvenience but Mother Nature has not played nice the past few months and we only want to do the best for our patients!

RVA Healthcare also mourns the recent loss of AL Oakes. He was a character and taught us so much about patients choice. He lived life to the fullest and left an amazing legacy and family for us to continue us to love! Prayer for all of you during this recent time of loss.

Albert Womble Oakes IV was born on August 29, 1952, and passed peacefully on January 23, 2026 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Frances Oakes his brother, Dudley Oakes and the mother of his children, Linda Clifton. Al is survived by his brother,
