πŸ” Hormonal vs. Copper: Which IUD is Right for You? πŸ”

Continuing our series on IUDs, let's dive deeper into the differences between hormonal and copper IUDs. Hormonal IUDs release progestin, a hormone that thickens cervical mucus and may stop ovulation. They're typically effective for 3-5 years. Many users report lighter periods or no periods at all.

On the other hand, copper IUDs are hormone-free, using copper ions to prevent s***m from reaching the egg. These can last up to 10 years, making them a long-lasting option for those who prefer non-hormonal methods.

Deciding between the two depends on individual health needs and lifestyle. Our team at MedHaven Health is here to guide you through your options with compassionate care. Give us a call today and take the first step towards informed choices.

🌟 Understanding IUDs: Your Path to Informed Choices 🌟

At MedHaven Health, we believe in empowering our community with knowledge. Let's start with understanding what an IUD is! An Intrauterine Device (IUD) is a small, T-shaped device that a healthcare provider places inside the uterus to help prevent pregnancy. It's renowned for being one of the most effective forms of birth control available.

There are two types of IUDs: hormonal and copper. Both work by preventing s***m from reaching and fertilizing eggs. Hormonal IUDs release small amounts of progestin hormone which thickens the cervical mucus, while copper IUDs act as a s***micide due to the copper ions.

Interested in learning more about how an IUD might fit into your family planning strategy? Visit our blog for in-depth information and guidance. We're here to support your health needs every step of the way.

TYPE 1.5 DIABETES : LADA

Do you know that there are 3 types of diabetes? Yes, the type 1.5 Latent Autoimmune Diabetes in adult | Although not common, it was first noticed by researches in the early 90s.
Type 1 – An autoimmune condition where the body stops making insulin. Usually starts in childhood/young adulthood. Requires daily administration of insulin.
Type 1.5 (LADA) – Often misdiagnosed as Type 2, is a type of diabetes that develops slowly in adults but is also autoimmune. People may start on pills but eventually end up also needing insulin later in life.
Type 2 – The most common type. The body makes insulin but doesn’t use it well (insulin resistance). Often linked to lifestyle and family history. Can be managed with healthy habits, medicine, and sometimes insulin.
Getting the right diagnosis and proper treatment in today's world of continue glucose monitoring devices, improved medications and medication options, regardless of the type of diabetes can lead to a better health and fewer complications.
