EO LIFE HACK: MYRRH π
Have you noticed how difficult it is to open up a bottle of myrrh essential oil that hasn't been used for a while? Because myrrh is a resin-based essential oil, it can get sticky as it oxidizes. When myrrh essential oil gets on the inside of the bottle cap, it can actually seal your bottle shut.
Dr. David Stewart gave us a wonderful tip years ago for preventing the cap on Young Living's MYRRH from getting stuck so the bottle cannot be opened. Simply open the cap and put a little V6 around the ridges on the bottle and on the inside of the cap before you use it.
NOTE: It may be necessary to do this periodically to make certain that the essential oil does not crystallize.
A must do tip for your sticky oils like Myrrh! ππ₯°
What do I do if the bottle cannot be opened anymore?
If your bottle of Myrrh essential oil crystallizes, a closed bottle can be put into a cup of very hot water π¦ until the crystals dissolve. If the top will not open, turn the bottle upside down and immerse the cap in the cup of hot water.
Once open, prevent the lid from sticking again by wiping the outer rim of the bottle and inner rim of the top with your choice of V6 or Animal Scents ointment or Rose Ointment. (If discolored, you may choose to replace the cap with another one.) π¦
