Want to know our secret to clearing skin?

✨ Step #1: Get a Full Consultation. One of the biggest, most important parts of clearing is a consultation. For us, we evaluate a clients skin, get a baseline count of inflammatory lesions and amount of acne comedones and note any other conditions along with skin type, history of sensitivity, allergies, reactions, what they have tried, what’s made a client worse. Taking the time to play detective and really understand all the parts is essential to clearing success.

For this client, he flew in to see us after 5 doctors weren’t able to help him. He tried lasers (???), retinoids, accutane. Having his history, evaluating his skin, spending time uncovering everything was the most important step to clearing him.

✨ Step #2: Implement a plan for clearing addressing the main concerns and what the skin needs.

For this client we got him clear in 6 months by addressing his inflammation in multiple ways which in this case was the following:

➡️ We changed his shaving habits, moving to single blade disposable razors to reduce open cuts and abrasions.

➡️ We started him on Restorative Serum to keep his compromised skin barrier supported and accelerate healing.

➡️ We had him use our exclusive benzoyl peroxide with sulfur to reduce inflammation and support clearing and prevention of both acne and future staph.

✨ Step #3: Start customized targeted treatments once skin is preconditioned and ready to avoid irritation and purging. With acne we start treatments after 2 weeks of pre-conditioning and then begin using enzymes and then peels to bring back healthy, glowing skin.

The MIST know that you might not know.

Correcting these can be the difference between getting clear and staying clear and well…

not getting or staying clear.

✔️ Chronic jumping or switching actives can cause a lot of issues. If you are guilty of switching product often in a desperate attempt to clear, take 3-5 days off what wasn’t working and moisturize / occlude skin before trying something new.

✔️ Too strong of a product for your skin or just the wrong product for your skin. 👎 Even though a product helps others with your same exact acne, it may not agree with your skin and skin type. This can show up as breakouts beyond an initial purging stage, breakouts in areas you don’t normally breakout, small bumps, rashes and even swelling. It also often causes an intolerance to peels and treatments.

✔️ Washing your face too much or using only a gel hydrator causes more harm than good. 2x a day cleansing should be the max. Make sure to moisturize your skin. We like Face Reality Clearderma for Normal or Skin or Cranpeptide Cream for Sensitive Skin or Dry Skin. For very dry skin we like Le Mieux Sheer Hydration or Vanicream Daily Moisturizer.
