Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. The oldest locally owned and family operated funeral home in York County. In late 1880, George W. In 1881, G.W. In the early 1900s, G.W.'s son, Harry C.

Geiple began the family business of manufacturing and selling furniture in Glen Rock, PA. made his first recorded sale of a coffin or casket and became interested in the undertaking business. In August of 1892, he attended and graduated from Clarke's School of Embalming in Baltimore. Geiple, attended the Clarke's School of Embalming in Harrisburg and entered into the "family trade." At this time,

the name of the funeral home became G.W. Geiple and Son. The family tradition continued as Harry's son George Eugene graduated from Gettysburg College and Eckles College of Embalming in Philadelphia. He took his apprenticeship with his father and received his Pennsylvania Funeral Director License on January 12, 1942. Following his father's death, Harry Geiple changed the business's name to H.C. On August 30, 1975, George Eugene's son, Glenn E. Geiple, graduated from Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Services, becoming the 4th generation of funeral directors in the Geiple Family. Following Harry's death in 1979, the business was incorporated and became Geiple Funeral Home, Inc. In 1985, Geiple developed a working relationship with John D. Jackson of the Jackson Funeral Home, Inc. on East Market Street in York. This relationship led to the purchase of corporate stock in Jackson's and the branch, Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., ultimately merged. With George Eugene's health failing, Glenn purchased the corporate stock from him on January 4, 1992, and continued to own and operate the Geiple Funeral Home until December 4, 2020. On this date, Glenn Geiple sold the funeral home to Robert Predicce. After this exchange, the funeral home name changed to Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Geiple-Predicce Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. is the oldest locally owned, family-operated funeral home in the York County area. Licensed in both Maryland and Pennsylvania, we serve families in south-central Pennsylvania and northern Maryland.
