What a joyful and heartwarming day at Silverado for our Easter Brunch! Even with the pouring rain and gray skies outside, nothing could dampen the spirit inside. Families arrived in full force, filling our community with laughter, warm hugs, bright smiles, and so much love.

The energy was simply contagious—friends reconnecting, families celebrating, and everyone soaking in those special moments together. And our culinary team absolutely knocked it out of the park! From savory steak and ham to delicious potatoes, fresh veggies, and sweet desserts—every bite was a celebration. No one left hungry, and many left with happy hearts (and full plates!).

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible team—everyone worked so hard to make this event happen, stepping in wherever needed so families could truly relax, be present, and enjoy meaningful time with their loved ones.

It was truly beautiful to see so many gathered together, making memories and sharing in the joy of the day.

Happy Easter, everyone!

Our amazing resident Jean was once a teacher, and her passion for it is still as strong as ever. Today, Jean decided she wanted to teach a class—and of course, we made it happen!

We gathered a small group ready to listen, and Jean jumped right in. She shared that the first thing a new teacher should do is introduce themselves and make sure everyone feels comfortable. From there, she talked about what the class would be doing. Since her true love is reading, we picked out a book, and she began reading to her “class.”

She loved every minute of it, and honestly, it was just as special for me to sit back and enjoy being part of her class. 💛

Today we hosted our Easter Egg Hunt with the wonderful children from Hawthorn Elementary—and what a joyful day it was! We had eggs everywhere… about 600 in total! 🐣

We even had a special appearance from the Easter Bunny, and I think the kids may have been even more excited to see the Bunny than the eggs themselves!

It was heartwarming to watch our residents having so much fun as their bags quickly filled up. The children gathered eggs and placed them into Easter bags held by our residents—the goal being to fill each bag as much as possible. The laughter, smiles, and cheerful “Happy Easter!” greetings brought so much life and happiness into our community.

A very special thank you to Krystal, the organizer at Hawthorn Elementary, for bringing the children to visit us. Their energy and joy truly brightened our residents’ day.

My heart is so full getting to witness moments like these—pure joy shared across generations.

Tomorrow is Opening Day for our beloved Brewers! ⚾️ Our residents had a special opportunity to visit the stadium ahead of the big crowds. Even with the gates up, they were still able to take in the field, stroll around the park, and enjoy the calm before the excitement. It was a beautiful day to be out and about, making the experience even more memorable!

It feels like if you’re from Milwaukee, at some point in your life you’ve visited the Milwaukee Public Museum. It’s sad to know that it will soon be gone, which is why our residents wanted to experience it one more time.

For many, it’s a place filled with memories—from childhood visits to returning again as adults. The moment you step inside, it all comes rushing back.

We walked through slowly this time—reading everything, looking more deeply, and truly taking it all in. Every exhibit felt more meaningful.

It was special to be able to return and relive such an important part of our childhood. A place like that isn’t just a museum—it’s a collection of memories.

I know what you’re thinking… it’s way too early to be making Easter cards! 🐣 But with over 70 kids coming, it’s going to take a team to make all these cute cards and put lots of love into each one.

We’re already halfway there! 💛

The kids are going to love them, and our residents are having such a great time making them. Everyone is focused and determined to get them done early—and the creativity around the table say it all.

It’s a wonderful mix of teamwork, laughter, and a little bit of Easter magic.

We celebrated St. Patty’s Day our way here at Silverado! 🍀

Our culinary team kicked things off with a delicious corned beef lunch with all the fixings. One of our wonderful families brought in a beautiful cake for everyone to enjoy, and we also had shamrock cookies from Brighton along with plenty of treats and drinks throughout the day.

Our engagement team kept the fun going with games like a four-leaf clover scavenger hunt and a bean bag coin toss. Pictures were taken by the backdrop -made by the Engagement Team. We enjoyed music, watched the St. Patty’s Day parade, and sipped on festive green drinks with pretzels and cheese.

It was a loud, fun, and busy day filled with laughter and celebration—just the way we like it!

What do you think about some of these paintings from our Art Club with residents? 🎨 Not too shabby, don’t you think!

We definitely have some talent here. One of the most fun parts is watching everyone choose their colors and seeing how different each painting turns out in the end. It’s always a surprise and so enjoyable to see everyone’s creativity come to life.
