Former Governor Marty Schreiber recently shared his caregiving journey with Silverado family members and our greater community. His heartfelt presentation walked the audience through his personal experience as a caregiver for his late wife, Elaine, offering an honest and emotional look into the realities of loving someone with dementia.
Through his story, families found comfort, understanding, and reassurance that they are not alone in their journey. His book, My Two Elaines, provides wisdom, practical insight, and hope for those navigating the challenges of caring for a loved one diagnosed with dementia.
Marty served as Wisconsin’s youngest state senator at the age of 23, later becoming the state’s 38th Lieutenant Governor and 39th Governor. A Milwaukee native, he is now a leading advocate for Alzheimer’s and dementia-related issues, using his voice and experience to support families across the country.
We are truly grateful he took the time to share his story with our Silverado community.
