🎃 Trick-or-Treat Event at Silverado! 🍬

A big shoutout to Christine from Hawthorne Elementary School for bringing so much joy and excitement to our community! The first and second graders came dressed in their adorable costumes, ready for some Halloween fun. 👻

Our residents had an absolute blast seeing all the little ones in their costumes and sharing smiles, laughter, and sweet treats. We welcomed about 70 children and made sure they left with lots of candy, cookies, and a colorful pencil for school! ✏️🍭

Our management team joined in the fun with some great costumes of their own (always a hit at our morning meeting!), and our staff had just as much fun dressing up and helping residents and kids enjoy the festivities.

It was truly a spooktacular day filled with joy, laughter, and community spirit!

🎃 Halloween Trick-or-Treat Event at Silverado! 👻

Our residents are getting into the Halloween spirit by making special cards for each child who will be joining us for our Trick-or-Treat event next week Thursday! They’re also adding a fun, colorful pencil to go with every card — a sweet little surprise for all the kids who visit our community.

We can’t wait to see all the costumes, smiles, and spooky fun!

Our Engagement Team is one of a kind! Their creativity shines in everything they do. For this week’s Culinary Club, our residents made Pumpkin Pizzas — and they turned out delicious! 👩‍🍳🍕 Ann took the lead as Chef in our Nexus Neighborhood, while Lindsey and Regina assisted in Enrichment. The teamwork, laughter, and mouthwatering smells filled the community — and everyone agreed, they were pumpkin perfect! 🎃

🎃 It’s that time of the month again—door decorating time!

We’re getting ready for our big Trick-or-Treat Event, and with over 70 kids expected to visit our community, we’re making sure it’s a spooktacular celebration! 👻

Our residents and staff are getting into the Halloween spirit by decorating their doors, and the friendly competition is on to see who will take home the prize for Best Door!

Stay tuned next week when we’ll be posting all the creative door designs and asking everyone to vote for their favorite!

Our residents too a scenic field trip to Holy Hill!
What a spectacular drive it was — rolling hills, colorful trees, and breathtaking fall views everywhere we looked. 🍂

Of course, we made a quick stop at Kwik Trip to grab some snacks and drinks for the ride! Some residents chose to explore the beautiful church grounds and take in the majestic views, while others relaxed on the bus to simply enjoy the peaceful drive.

💙 At Silverado, we take a different approach to Orientation!

We know how important it is for our new associates to receive the right information in the classroom — but we also want them to experience what makes our community so special. That’s why we include time for them to interact, engage, and participate in our resident Clubs and activities.

This hands-on approach gives our new team members a deeper understanding and appreciation of what life at Silverado is all about — connection, purpose, and engagement beyond their own department. 🌟

🎃 Remember our last post when our residents picked out their pumpkins? Well, yesterday was the big day — pumpkin carving time!

We had everyone join in — staff, residents, and even kids! It was so fun to see the transformation from a plain pumpkin into a cool, creative masterpiece. A special shoutout to Jace, one of our manager’s kids, who joined in on the carving fun!

And of course, we didn’t forget to save the seeds — our residents are excited to roast up some flavorful pumpkin seeds next!

This month we kicked off our brand-new Reading Club! Each month, one of our residents will choose a book they love and take the lead in guiding the group.

Our first selection was The Old Man and the Sea, chosen by John, a former English teacher with a true passion for literature. We provided eight copies of the book, along with magnifiers for those who prefer larger print.

Residents took turns reading aloud, discussing the story’s meaning, and sharing their thoughts—all while enjoying a cozy cup of coffee together. It was a wonderful success, and everyone is already looking forward to next week!

We want to give a big thank you to our amazing Culinary Team for always providing delicious meals for our community. They do so much more than cook, clean, prep, and set up—they also take the time to engage with our residents and families, making every experience special. Without their hard work and dedication, we couldn’t be the best Silverado in Wisconsin!

What a gorgeous day it was to head out to Creekside Valley Farm for some pumpkin picking! Even though there were plenty of beautiful pumpkins already on display, our residents chose the adventure of walking into the field to pick their own. A little dirt, some walking, and a bit of lifting later—they each had a pumpkin of their own, and they loved it! These will soon be carved into festive creations for our community.

After all that hard work, we treated ourselves to gourmet ice cream at The Purple Door—such a sweet way to end a perfect fall outing!
