Happy 1 year Elevate!

I will never forgot the feelings of excitement and fear I felt when Elevate was official. I’ve been in the mental health field for 10 years in different mental health settings. The last year has been one of learning how to start a business.

Who am I? I am a Mexican American that grew up in Colorado. I identify as a Latina. My primary language is Spanish and learned English in school. I grew up as many first generation children learning how to mix two different worlds. Many times not feeling like I fit in one or the other world fully. It took many years of reflecting to accept and LOVE the blend. Elevate is the blend of both worlds. Elevate is spelled and means the same in both Spanish and English.

What does Elevate mean to me? To rise to a higher level of understanding in everything and anything.

My work is dedicated to break down stigma related to mental health in all communities. To give a space that feels safe and nurturing. To break cycles. To begin to heal transgenerational trauma.

¡Feliz cumpleaños Elevate!

Nunca olvidaré los sentimientos de emoción y miedo que sentí cuando Elevate fue oficial. He estado en el campo de la salud mental durante 10 años. El último año ha sido uno de aprender cómo iniciar un negocio.

¿Quién soy? Soy un mexicoamericana que creció en Colorado. Me identifico como latina. Mi idioma principal es el español y aprendí inglés en la escuela. Crecí como muchos niños de primera generación aprendiendo a mezclar dos mundos diferentes. Muchas veces no me sienta que encajaba plenamente en uno u otro mundo. Fueron necesarios muchos años de reflexión para aceptar y AMAR la mezcla. Elevate es la mezcla de ambos mundos. Elevate se escribe y significa lo mismo tanto en español como en inglés.

¿Qué significa Elevate para mí? Crecer a un nivel superior de comprensión en todo.

Mi trabajo está dedicado a acabar con el estigma relacionado con la salud mental en todas las comunidades. Para dar un espacio que se sienta seguro y enriquecedor. Para romper ciclos. Para empezar a sanar traumas transgeneracionales.
