Intern Spotlight | Meet Justice, our Practicum Student at our Glendale Office!
Q: What drew you to the field?
My AP Psychology class in high school! I always knew I wanted to help people in a clinical setting, but had trouble narrowing down exactly how until junior year of high school. Psychology was one of the biggest subjects I could get lost in for hours, and with the impact stress has on one's wellbeing, I loved the idea of helping someone's mental health improve. It felt like the cornerstone of a healthy life.
Q: What was your favorite part of your master's program?
I'm still finishing up my program, but so far, my favorite part has been a combination of the diagnosis and treatment, psychopharmacology, and research courses. I'm pretty proud of the papers and research I've written for these classes, and got an idea for a future thesis if I pursue my doctorate!
Q: Where do you look forward to working?
I'm still exploring and navigating the exact setting I'd want to work in, but I hope to reach a diverse demographic of people in the SoCal area.
Q: One thing you hope to learn or take away from your time with Counseling4Kids?
I hope to build the confidence to deliver services for a wide array of presenting problems.
Q: Fun Fact?
I like sprinting more than running long distances. I used to do hurdles and relays!
