Facebook shared this photo of flowers from my first day of owning my office 10 years ago. I couldn’t be more grateful for the patients, team, and colleagues this office brought me. Things have changed around the office from the old paper charts, purple carpet, and crazy wallpaper but I am really fortunate to be living my career dream (with my dream team).

This weekend I graduated from the Kois curriculum. 9 trips to Seattle for all the core courses and 2 adjunct courses. Over 300 hours of sitting, 4 cases brought and reviewed with the group, and countless cups of coffee. I have made so many friends with amazing colleagues who deeply care for their patients and strive for excellence. Along the way the goal of finishing became more than a check box but something that has wonderfully impacted both my personal and professional life.

Today was a fun day. I volunteered at the Forum to vaccinate my fellow LA County residents. There were tears of joy from a couple on their 57th wedding anniversary, lots of grandparents excited to see grand babies, and I got to be in a lot of selfies. Most meaningful was the couple with numbers on their arms. I didn’t ask their story, but I hope they get to spend their remaining time surrounded by friends and family soon.
