NOOW ANNOUNCEMENT:

It may come as no surprise in a time of global pandemic that like so many annual events in 2020, this year's 'Not on our Watch' will be cancelled. While each of your safety is our priority we also recognize that our mission to prevent Veteran su***de is more essential than ever.

We ask that during the September 11-13th time period this year you remember the fallen by wearing your dog tags, bracelets and tee-shirts; post selfies and pay tribute on Facebook, , or email to us for our website.

We are planning for an in-person gathering at Verdugo Park in Glendale for the 2021 event.

Please mark your calendars for next year's event in September. During this temporary waiting time each of us can stand watch wherever we are and help those who have born the battle too long.

With much care and respect to you who have been our supporters and strength, we offer deep gratitude.

"Having this self-awareness — otherwise known as mindfulness — which is what's developed through the process of seeing your distractions and then beginning again (gently over and over and over again), that is a game-changing skill. Because ... this nonstop conversation ... is a central feature of your life — whether you know it or not, we're all walking around with this inner narrator that if we broadcast loud, you would be locked up. And when you're unaware of this cacophony internally, it's owning you all the time. And what we're doing in meditation is dragging all of this nonsense out of the shadows and into the light."

ABC news correspondent Dan Harris was broadcasting live in 2004 when he experienced a panic attack. He credits meditation with helping him work through his anxiety — both then and now.
