I've yet to meet anyone who says that they'd love to return to their middle school years. 💔
The awkward time of fighting for independence, while searching for acceptance is a lot to handle. It's even more difficult if you find yourself "on the outs" with her social circle. If you've got a struggling tween, check out this article to help them deal with social exclusion.
Though parents may feel powerless when a child is excluded, there is much they can do to help with this painful experience.

Hi, I’m Sofia, and I love helping kids, families, and couples reconnect with each other and find the joy in spending time together!
When someone asks what makes the difference between "surviving" families and "thriving" families, I say it's the quality of those fundamental relationships.
My goal is to help you and your family develop the understanding and habits that allow you to strengthen and foster healthy relationships.
The seeds you plant will grow. Focus your time and energy on reflection of positivity rather than unnecessarily tearing yourself or others down.

This video does a great job of explaining what happens when a person with ADHD gets overwhelmed and shuts down. FYI: the process is similar for anyone under emotional duress.

✨ Elevate Spotlight✨
Hello! My name is Lauryn!
I feel that therapy should be collaborative, and I hope to create a space where you feel safe to discuss your priorities, concerns, goals, and accomplishments. It's a privilege to walk alongside individuals going through some of the hardest times of their lives.
Throughout my professional life, I’ve had the honor of working in the field of intimate partner violence for several years directly serving individuals and families who experienced domestic abuse and educating other professionals about the complex nuances of domestic and sexual violence. I received my Master's in Social Work from Arizona State University in 2024. (Go Devils!) and during my graduate program, I had the opportunity to provide crisis response services at the scenes of 911 calls, as well as to provide individual therapy to people experiencing grief and bereavement in moments of crisis. I recognize the very real impacts of trauma and am excited to support you through your journey of healing.
My approach to therapy is humanistic, person-centered, and trauma-informed, with an emphasis on the creation of mindfulness and self-compassion practices.
Forget goals.🚫
💯 Focus on habit change and consistency and the outcome will be self-fulfilling.
Here's to living the life that leads you to where you want to go!
