Star is one of those Pilates exercises that reveals itself overtime… With a lot of patience… And perseverance… The relationships become known and the benefits become evident. 🔐When I first learned Star, I thought it was a side plank. But now I can see that it is a combination of so many other Mat and Reformer exercises like the Side Leg Kick Series, Single Straight Leg Stretch, Side Bend, Elephant, Long Stretch Series, Knee Pulls, Mermaid, and the Hundred. 🔑Star finds its roots in the strength of the powerhouse through the legs and the arm/back relationship builds on that. But I would never have discovered that without a regular practice that I make time and space for….I’m still learning and growing every time I do my Mat or my Reformer Practice. 🔐Practice makes progress, …So if you want to see change,….invest in prioritizing your practice! 🗝️:You deserve to experience all the benefits a Pilates practice can offer you like strength, reduced risk of injury, reduction in stiffness, innate confidence, and juicy mobility. You deserve to feel amazing because you ARE amazing!😍 ❤️

Having a Pilates practice doesn’t just happen….it requires patience, committment, discipline, and purpose fueled passion. 🔑:Having purpose behind your passion provides the rocket fuel to push past discomfort and excuses and to instead show up and put in the work. 🗝️:Growth requires discomfort, and progress requires consistency. 🔐:Put in the time and the effort and great things can happen. But they never happen overnight. That’s why you need a purpose to fuel you through the process!😌✨What is your purpose behind your Pilates practice? ✨My Pilates purpose is to become the strongest, most adaptable, and most capable version of myself and to help others do the same. ⭐️Hundred⭐️*4 heavy springs (footwork setting)🔑: The Hundred is a full body conversation where the body is challenged to move the upper and lower body as rooted (and powered💥) from the center. 📝: I filmed this video months ago and I can see all the ways I want to “fix” myself. But our Pilates practice is not there for us to fixate on fixing ourselves. It is there for us to check in to see where we have been, where we are, and where are are going. It is there for us to find connection and challenge. But Pilates is also there to support us our whole life long- so we can relax and enjoy the journey as our practice deepens and evolves with us!😌 💕

⭐️Overhead⭐️: *2 heavy springs, 🔑:Overhead is the first inversion in the classical Reformer order and it demands the whole body work in conversation in order to make the spinal flexion happen with ease in the body. If the upper or lower end of the body moves out of sync with the others the result is disconnect and the powerhouse is unable to tap into balance and flow. In some versions the toes roll directly over the eyes. In this version I’m doing a jackknife first (roll over into overhead). Both versions serve a purpose so chose the version your body needs that day!🤓 💕

⭐️Rowing Series #4, Rowing from the Chest⭐️: *1 heavy spring, 🔑: Every movement in the arms is generated by the trunk muscles working to create a longer, taller, stronger, and broader spine. The arm movements are a response to the initiation of energy plugging into and from the powerhouse. I tell clients a lot, “Root before you Reach!” and the rowing series is no exception 🤓. Find the two way stretch relationship in any Pilates exercise and you will be well on your way to discovering its essence😌.
