Hi, I’m Shannon! 26 years old, homeschooling mama of 3 beautiful boys, nature enthusiast, dog lover, and birth nerd located in Glens Falls, NY. I am so glad you came across my page in your search for a Doula. My 3 births were all completely different and 2 of them were actually quite traumatizing. If you’re interested in my birth stories you can find them below! I was inspired to become a Doula shortly after my 2nd birth. My 3rd birth, which was absolutely amazing, solidified my decision. A fire of passion was lit inside my soul to guide any Mama I could down the path to an enjoyable, non traumatizing birth, and experience the euphoria that comes with it. Birth shouldn’t be scary, and it shouldn’t be traumatizing. It should be spiritual, transcendent, joyful, and awakening. I strongly encourage home birth, physiologic childbirth, VBAC, interventions when medically necessary, and gentle cesarean when medically necessary. Despite my preferences, I will work with any birth plan and promise to help you stick to your plan, encourage you to make informed decisions, as well as advocate for your birth rights. Let’s Doula this together!

Recently many health insurance companies and even Medicaid have started covering/ reimbursing doula care! Check with your insurance provider to see if you are eligible. And check with your Doula for payment options/ accepted insurance options. 🙌🏻

I have moved!!

Part of the reason for my leave was buying a house in Delanson and getting settled in. Very exciting! The move has changed my service area.

For example Some of the areas included now are Amsterdam, Cobleskill, Albany, Troy, Clifton Park, parts of Saratoga, Parts of Bethlehem, Glenville, Schenectady, Guilderland, Rotterdam and more.

As always… if you are unsure don’t hesitate to send an inquiry! There are many Doulas in the area that would be over the moon happy to connect with you if you do not live in my service area. I will gladly help you connect 🙌🏻💕

I am ready to step out of maternity leave!

While it has been amazing to just focus on moving into our first house, having our first Homebirth and 4th sweet boy, caring for and loving up on my family, I have missed the joy birthwork has also brought me.

I have a few housekeeping things to take care of and then I can officially open books up for postpartum and birth prep only at the moment. The goal is to open for postpartum Doulaing starting with July / August due dates! The goal for birth prep by May. Consider this the “coming soon” announcement and stay tuned for the official one 🥰

As much as I’d LOVE to be at births again, I too am postpartum and my focus is heavily on breastfeeding and meeting my families needs. So for my season of life right now births just aren’t something I can pour 100% into and Mamas you DESERVE 100%. So when I am able to I’ll let you know 🙌🏻

Hey everybody! Please read this 🙌🏻

I know I have been MIA on socials, and have been teasing exciting news … well I can finally share now that news has been shared with family!

We are expecting our fourth baby boy this October! AND we also closed on our first house and moved in this past March🎊 so many exciting changes to celebrate.

Due to the move I will be adjusting my service area which is why my website is under construction at the moment.

I am taking extended maternity leave to focus on settling into our new home and working on renovations as well as preparing to welcome the new baby, take time to establish breastfeeding, and help the children adjust to a new sibling.

So I will not be taking any new clients for a while. When I have a better idea of my return I will update my socials.

If you need help finding a Doula please reach out! I know many awesome Doulas and would be more than happy to get you in contact with them.

I’m baaaaccckkk! Cue cringy TikTok sound😅 I hope your holidays were fabulous 🙌🏻 What are your resolutions?! I would LOVE to hear them! Bonus points if they are pregnancy / birth related.

Some of mine:
- Get outside more
- Less personal screen time
- Make healthier choices
- Get on board with CDPHP’s Doula coverage!!!

That last one is HUGE! If you haven’t heard… CDPHP is now offering Doula coverage. Check with your insurance company to see what they may offer for you.

It’s always good to go back to the basics 🙌🏻

Hormones are the foundation of labor and birth! They are responsible for the start or labor, continuation of labor, soothing the body, preparing the body for birth, kicking off milk production and so much more!

After knowing what each one is responsible for, Knowing how certain interventions/ situations effect each hormone can also help tremendously.

As your Doula I promise to cover these basics in our appointments. 🙌🏻
