Today we recognize and celebrate our incredible Occupational Therapy professionals who help the people we support build skills, independence, and confidence in everyday life.

Through creativity, compassion, and expertise, Occupational Therapists work alongside individuals to develop practical strategies that support participation in daily activities—from self-care and mobility to communication, work, and community involvement.

Shout out to CWI's Occupational Therapist, Dan Anderson. Your dedication helps people achieve greater independence and live fuller, more meaningful lives.

Thank you for the care, knowledge, and commitment you bring to your work every day.

Today we celebrate the incredible Administrative Professionals who help keep everything running smoothly across our organization.

From coordinating schedules and managing details to supporting teams, programs, and leadership, your work often happens behind the scenes but its impact is felt everywhere. Your organization, dedication, and willingness to jump in wherever needed help make each day more successful for the people we serve and the teams who support them.

We would also like to take a moment to spotlight a few of the individuals who exemplify this work each and every day:
Deb Grace and Karen Kozak at 16 Pearl Street, Alicia Ciliauro at Foothills Clinic, and Shelly Holman in Transportation. Your commitment, reliability, and positive impact do not go unnoticed.

Thank you for the care, professionalism, and consistency you bring to your work every day. We truly appreciate all that you do.

The guys from Everts Day Program made sure they didn’t miss a very important day—opening day of soft serve at Rob & Deb’s! 🍦

Nothing says warmer weather is here like that first cone of the season. Safe to say it was well worth the trip!

We’re excited to share that Community, Work & Independence, Inc. (CWI) has been awarded funding through the New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) to support accessibility enhancements at our Foothills Article 16 Clinic!

This funding will allow us to make meaningful improvements that directly impact the individuals we serve, including:

-Expanding and reconfiguring our entryway and reception area to improve access and flow
-Purchasing a mechanical lift to support safe and efficient transfers
-Enhancing lighting, acoustics, and flooring to create a more comfortable, sensory-friendly environment
-Adding a sensory regulation space to support individuals who benefit from a calming area before or after appointments

These upgrades reflect the voices of the individuals, families, and staff who shared feedback on how we can continue to improve the clinic experience.

We are grateful to OPWDD for recognizing the importance of investing in accessible, inclusive healthcare environments and for supporting this work. This project will help ensure that individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities can access high-quality, person-centered care in a space designed to meet their needs.

Our team was proud to be present at the Autism Expo in Saratoga, connecting with community members, families, and fellow providers to share the many services and supports offered at CWI.

Events like this are a powerful reminder of the importance of connection, collaboration, and access to resources. Whether it was answering questions, building new partnerships, or simply having meaningful conversations, our team was honored to be part of a space dedicated to supporting individuals and families.

We are grateful for the opportunity to engage with so many passionate advocates and organizations working toward the same goal, ensuring individuals have the supports they need to thrive.

Together, we are stronger. Together, we build community.
