Sometimes a pair of glasses isn’t just glasses.

Craig brought in a vintage frame he truly loves. When it cracked at the bridge, he was crushed. I get it, because the right frame becomes part of your identity.

We can’t repair the original front properly, so we’re rebuilding it and keeping the details that matter. Even down to tracking down rivets that look like they belong, with help from a fellow maker.

Not done yet, but this one’s worth doing right.

Fresh out of the Optical Kitchen. 👓🔥

This is one of my favorite moments in the whole process: that “just finished” stage where the shape is alive, the polish is still fresh, and the acetate pattern looks like it was painted on purpose (because… it basically was).

These frames are a custom build for Aaron, made right here at Corner Optical.
From choosing colors to dialing in fit and balance, this is what happens when eyewear is treated like a craft, not a commodity.

POV: Your favorite glasses just died. 💔

Client: “Can you duplicate my old frame?”
Us: “We can make something very similar, but it’ll never be an exact duplicate.”

This one was a broken Lafont Concourt. Clean lines, classic shape… which also means zero place to hide mistakes. The hardest part? COLOR. That specific translucent green was nearly impossible to match.

Cue a bunch of test pours, tiny tweaks, and nerdy color-matching sessions in the Optical Kitchen. After many attempts, we finally cracked it.

Same vibe, fresh strength, updated prescription, and a very happy human who didn’t have to say goodbye to “their” look.
