Years ago, we made a frame for this client that just worked.
The shape felt right, wore beautifully, and became one of those rare pairs that settles in and becomes part of your everyday life. So when she came back, the goal wasn’t to reinvent the wheel. It was to revisit that same shape in a new spring-summer palette.
That’s where the Optical Kitchen gets fun.
We get to build a pair of glasses with our clients — shape, color, personality, all of it. And for this frame, the big question was how to bring fresh seasonal color into a silhouette she already knew was hers.
The answer ended up being a lamination.
A transparent aqua layered with a warm tortoise created something neither color could do on its own. More depth. More movement. More life.
And that’s often how it happens. You start with a memory, a shape, a couple pieces of acetate on the table — and then all at once, the new frame shows up.
Familiar shape. Fresh color. Same client, new chapter.
That’s the kind of custom work we love.
