Valentine’s Day can bring up a lot — love, loneliness, expectations, memories. If you’re in recovery, it can also bring stress or emotional triggers. 💗

Here are a few gentle reminders for navigating the day:

✨ Protect your peace. It’s okay to decline plans or limit social media if it feels overwhelming.

✨ Stay connected. Reach out to your sponsor, therapist, or supportive friends. You don’t have to do this alone.

✨ Create new traditions. Plan something that supports your recovery — a meeting, a workout, journaling, time with safe friends, or a self-care night in.

✨ Feel your feelings. Emotions aren’t setbacks. They’re signals. Acknowledge them without judgment.

Recovery is about building a life rooted in self-worth and healthy connection — and that includes the relationship you have with yourself.

Today, choose compassion over comparison. You are worthy of love exactly where you are. 💕

It’s National Flannel Day 🤍

And at Momenta, a flannel often shows up where healing does - out in the pasture, alongside our equine partners.

In equine therapy, horses meet us exactly where we are. As highly sensitive herd animals, they respond to authenticity, presence, and emotional awareness, offering powerful, non-verbal feedback that helps our clients build self-trust, resilience, and connection. Wrapped in a flannel, grounded in nature, and guided by the wisdom of the herd, healing unfolds one honest moment at a time.

Sometimes the most meaningful work doesn’t happen in an office.. it happens in boots, a flannel, and open fields. 🌿🐴

At Momenta, we lead with love. 🤍

We provide women the space, safety, and support they need to achieve true, lasting recovery. Our work is about rewriting the stories we tell ourselves about who we are, where we belong, and what’s possible. By gently uncovering and moving through trauma, we help women release the shadows of addiction and mental illness and step fully into the light of recovery. As one of the few women-only recovery centers in the country, Momenta offers female-focused, mindfulness-based care that supports women and their families in deep, meaningful ways. Through a culture of love and service, we guide women out of isolation and into connection, healing, and purpose.

✨ Recovery is possible. You don’t have to walk it alone.

What is the story behind the buffalo? 🦬

When a storm approaches, most animals turn and run—trying to escape what’s coming. The cow, unable to outrun it, often gets trapped in the storm’s center, spending more time exhausted and overwhelmed.

The buffalo does the opposite.

Instead of running away, the buffalo turns toward the storm and charges straight through it. By facing it head-on, the buffalo moves through the storm faster and spends less time suffering its force.

This story reflects the heart of the work we do at Momenta.

For many of us, our pasts are filled with attempts to escape the pain of trauma. Survival taught us to run, numb, or hide—often through substances—just to make it through the storm. At Momenta, we learn a different way. We build the courage to face trauma directly, to challenge old patterns, and to move through the pain rather than remain stuck in it.

Here, we become the buffalo—brave, resilient, and willing to face the storm so healing can begin. 🧡

✨ End-of-the-Week Reflections & Intentions ✨

As the week comes to a close, we pause to reflect on the growth we’ve made, the challenges we’ve faced, and the strength we’ve shown, together. 🧡

This is a time to release what no longer serves us, celebrate even the smallest victories, and set gentle intentions for the days ahead. Healing isn’t rushed; it’s honored one moment at a time.

May this weekend bring rest, clarity, and renewed purpose. 🌿

Home for Healing

At Momenta Recovery, we believe that every woman is worthy of recovery and inherently capable of achieving it. Our women’s-only residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility in the Colorado mountains takes a mindful approach to helping women build the habits of living a better life in awe-inspiring surroundings.

Momenta Recovery was founded to provide a healing place for individuals who identify as female. We firmly believe in the importance of gender-specific treatment to provide a safe container for healing to occur. Our 90-day, support-based treatment is designed to help women with the unique traumas they experience, empowering them to take ownership of their recovery. Together we can heal and move into lives of service, love, well-balanced productivity, and purpose.

Our recovery center in Glenwood Springs and our partnership with 4Winds Farm, a vast 125-acre ranch nestled in the breathtaking scenery of Colorado’s Roaring Fork Valley, allows us to provide a sacred residential healing experience and an unmatched spiritual space for women to feel secure to begin their intensive healing process. We offer a peaceful home for women in recovery to build a sense of supportive and intimate community, as well as a space for bonding with children and family as they work together through the recovery program.

As one of only a few recovery centers in the states tailored exclusively to women and led by a team of industry-leaders in the mental health field, we are uniquely qualified to support women through the rehabilitation process. Our culture of love and service creates healing opportunities to lead women out of the isolation of addiction into a more fulfilling life for themselves and the people they love.
