Your body is not a problem to be fixed.

Your body is a magnificent vessel that allows you to do all of the incredible thing that make up your life.

So many of us have reduced our bodies to an object that is invaluable if it is not a pleasing appearance to others.

We should be celebrating, honoring, respecting and nourishing these precious and only bodies we get.

How dare we starve ourselves and eat minimal calories and deprive our bodies of adequate nutrition and also foods that bring us joy and social experiences in order to reach some elusive goal body.

Who says we have to look a certain way to be happy with ourselves? Where did those messages come from for you?

When did you first begin to believe that your body was wrong?

You are the ultimate expert on you.

Let’s break free from the endless cycle of diet plans and workout routines sold to us with the false hope that we can all achieve an unattainable, cookie-cutter "ideal body".

Every body is unique, and body diversity is a beautiful part of the human experience. Even if we all followed the same "perfect" plan, our bodies would still look different from one another.

It's time to tune in to your body, its needs, and what truly makes you feel good.

Let's celebrate individuality and embrace the amazing vessel we call home.

Body diversity is part of the human experience. No child should even feel like their body is a problem and that they should have any intention of shrinking their bodies to make moving through life easier for them or more comfortable for the people around them.

Whenever we say something disparaging about our own bodies, our children internalize that and anti-fat bias perpetuates.

Celebrate all bodies for what they are capable of, now what they look like.

We teach our children to be inclusive when it comes to all other aspects, abilities and preferences, but anti-fat bias continues to be so pervasive.

It’s time for radical self-acceptance.

It’s time for radical self-acceptance.

In a world that relentlessly pressures us to conform to unrealistic standards, it's easy to feel inadequate. But I'm choosing to honor my body's journey.

My body is not an ornament to be admired. It's a complex, incredible system deserving of kindness and respect.

Let's replace the noise of societal expectations with the quiet strength of self-love.

My body is worthy, just as it is.

Let’s ditch assigning morality to foods. Food cannot be either “good” or “bad” and no one’s morality or worth as a person can be determined by the foods they have or have not eaten. Food is just food.

Yes, some foods are more health promoting and nutrient dense than others, but there is no reason to feel guilt or shame about eating food.

Your weight is probably the least interesting thing about you! You are so much more than your weight, body composition, or clothing size.

When you die I hope that people have more to say about what they loved about you besides how good you were at dieting or maintaining your weight or avoiding donuts in the break room.

So stop making this your life’s work. Let it go. Get a new dream. Focus your time, attention and money on things that actually matter and make a difference.

Nourish your body and feed your soul.

Reminders from the other side of Diet Culture:

1. Your weight does not equal your health.

2. Body diversity is part of the human experience! How boring would it be if we were all identical?

3. You never consented to receving these messages that there is something wrong with your body.

4. You may be your strongest and healthiest at a higher weight or in a larger body.

5. You were indoctrinated into a society that believes that for a woman, thin is most successful thing you can be.

6. Your weight is largely out of your control.

7. It’s not your fault.

8. Your body is not an ornament to be admired.

9. Starving yourself is the opposite of survival.

10. Start loving and properly nourishing yourself - you cannot hate your way to happiness.

Here's a radical idea: maybe those cravings are your body's way of signaling a need, not a sign of weakness.

Think about it:

Daytime deprivation: Skipping meals or undereating throughout the day can lead to evening hunger pangs. Your body is saying, "Hey, I need more fuel!".

Energy imbalance: Complex carbs and sugary snacks offer a quick energy boost, especially if your day lacked balanced meals.

Nutrient deficiencies: Craving salty chips? It could be your body seeking electrolytes or other minerals.

So, instead of shaming yourself, try listening to these cravings as messages from your body. Here's how to respond:

Listen to your body with curiosity to Identify the need: Is it true hunger, thirst, emotional comfort, or a specific nutrient?

Practice mindful eating: Savor each bite, listen to your fullness cues, and avoid multitasking while eating.

Nourishing your body is an act of self-care, not indulgence. Ditch the guilt and embrace mindful, responsive eating, even at night. ✨

Remember, you're not weak for having cravings. They're simply your body's way of advocating for itself. Embrace them as valuable signals, and cultivate a kinder relationship with food.
