Heads up, neighbors-- the clinic will be closed for a few days over the holidays.

December 24, 25, 26-- CLOSED for all services. No lab services will be available. No medication pick-up will be available.

January 1-- CLOSED.

We'll be back on January 2 for lab patients and medication pick-ups only-- no appointments though.

Our staff and volunteers are looking forward to some holiday time with loved ones, and wish the same good cheer for all of you!

Happy work-a-versary to our beloved pharmacist-in-charge, Rick Allen, who celebrated 3 years of serving in this capacity this month!
But that's not all... did you know that Rick was one of the very first pharmacists at the clinic, volunteering his time since 1998?
Our community of support is made of hundreds of helping hands, holding the safety net up for our patients.

Our Story

We are committed to everyone from Gloucester and Mathews Counties having access to basic healthcare and patient education.

The Gloucester Mathews Care Clinic was founded in 1998 by a group of parishioners from Abingdon Episcopal Church who were concerned about Gloucester & Mathews residents without insurance and unable to afford medical treatment or medications. Initially located in Hayes through operating space provided by Riverside Health System, we moved into our current facility in 2014. We have expanded from serving just over 100 patients in our first year to now over 900 patients annually.
