🌟 March is National Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month 🌟

At The Arc Lexington, inclusion isn’t just a word — it’s action. It’s opportunity. It’s community.

This month, we’re celebrating the voices, talents, leadership, and everyday achievements of the people we support.
We’re also shining a light on the importance of creating spaces where everyone belongs — at work, at school, and in our neighborhoods.

Follow along all month as we share stories that reflect what’s possible when barriers come down and potential rises up.

Together, we can build a community where everyone is recognized for their abilities and supported to live the life they choose.

Share the message. Be part of the movement.

✨SPOTTED: NIght to Shine in Schoharie✨

The Arc Lexington was seen among the masked figures at Night to Shine at Fusion Community Church — part of the worldwide celebration sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation.

Elegant masks, sparkling décor, and a dance floor full of joy set the stage for a magical celebration. But what made the night so incredible was the overwhelming encouragement and support from the community.

We are so grateful to be part of a community that celebrates every person and their abilities. Thank you to Fusion Church, the Tim Tebow Foundation, and everyone who helped make this Night to Shine one we’ll never forget.

Advocacy isn’t abstract. It’s personal. And yesterday, it was at the forefront for The Arc Lexington during a visit to the State Capitol. 🏛️

Our Voice Self Advocates along with staff met with state legislators to speak up for the workforce that makes our services possible every single day.

They discussed the importance of an inflationary increase and other basic funding needs to recruit and retain staff, because supporting people with disabilities starts with supporting the people who care for them.

This isn’t just about wages. It’s about basic necessities - housing, health insurance, and childcare—the same things every family needs to live.

Showing up, telling these stories, and asking for change is the least we can do to ensure our workforce is cared for—so they can continue caring for our community.
Thank you to our advocates for using your voices. This is why advocacy matters.
