November 10–17, north entrance to Emprise Bank on 199th Street will be closed! Please use South drive way to enter the clinic.

We know many of our residents have expressed concerns about safety at the 199th Street and US-54 intersection, and we want you to know that we hear you and we’re taking action. Several weeks ago, we recalibrated and improved the traffic signals and believe the results have been positive.

As part of our internal traffic study, we’re currently collecting baseline data using traffic counters near Emprise Bank. A second traffic count will take place November 10–17, during which the north entrance to Emprise Bank on 199th Street will be temporarily closed. This short closure will allow staff and our engineers to evaluate whether a permanent closure of that entrance could improve safety and traffic flow.

The adjacent businesses have been fully briefed of this effort.

Later this year, a comprehensive engineering study will be conducted to further assess the intersection and prepare the City to apply for external funding toward a larger capital improvement project designed to make this area safer and more efficient for everyone.
