Friends, as most of you know, 34 is an exceptionally long life for any equine.

For the nearly 20 years Lila lived and worked here at UpReach, she enjoyed extraordinarily good health.
Recently, Lila began to present with significant lameness affecting her balance and coordination.

Her veterinary team determined that the deficits Lila was experiencing are degenerative and age related. Simply put, despite every effort of that very kind, caring and loving veterinary team, UpReach Staff, Volunteers and participants, Lila is very old and can no longer support her own body weight safely.

With heavy hearts, and out of love and respect for her spirit, and in honor of the wonderful work she’s done to improve the lives of everyone who knows her, we made the very difficult but most compassionate decision to humanely release Lila from her suffering.
It is worth noting that on the morning she crossed the Rainbow Bridge there was the most magnificent rainbow over the fields here at UpReach -
Lila's friends were waiting for her.

She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

UpReach has been selected as the Hannaford Nonprofit Partner for Month of November!!

Starting today - and for the entire month of November - UpReach receives $1 for each reusable shopping bag purchased at the 605 Mast Road Hannaford location.

If you're heading out to do groceries today, why not head to the Hannaford at 605 Mast Road and purchase a few reusable shopping bags (we hear they're great for carrying apples and carrots to the barn too ;)!

UpReach was pleased to be one of 25 exhibiting agencies, and among 250 attendees at the 13th Annual “Strengthening Families Summit” hosted by the .
Powered by Hope Strengthened by Prevention was the theme. Our hosts, along with the presenters and fellow exhibitors are doing important and inspiring work - we are grateful to be working alongside to improve lives for people in our communities.

We had a lot of fun hosting First Responder Families for a Halloween Party here at the barn! Looks like the princesses, witches, dragons and even Spiderman enjoyed facepainting, stick pony races (look at Rudolph go!) and of course, pony rides!
Thanks to all of the First Responders and their families who joined us, and all of the wonderful volunteers who help make UpReach programs, and events like this possible!
