Hello everyone and Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season.

I just wanted to provide an update regarding the donation to Jennifer’s Church.

I wanted to make sure we received payment and donations from everyone and that took a little while. So I had some issues. I calculated the cost per person wrong, but fortunately everyone had sent enough to cover that error.

Then I inadvertently transferred money from my Pay Pal into the class savings account thinking that I had forgotten to transfer it, so then there was extra money. So I created a report for Sheila to review. She went over it with me and got things straightened out.

So, bottom line is thanks to all of those who sent extra donation money along with the flower cost, I dropped off $885.54 to Light House Assembly of God. I told them to use it however they wanted, on something they might need or want, in honor of Jennifer. I know she would love that so many of her classmates did that in het honor.

If anyone has any specific questions on the accounting, just call Sheila 😆
No, I will answer any questions anyone might have. Let’s all hope that we don’t go through this again for a long time!

I’m sure many of us can remember Stacy Tabor from grade school. Found out today from Candice that she has passed away. She had breast cancer. Keep her family and friends in your prayers.

Hey everyone … some of us had talked about getting together this past weekend but it had to be called off because there wasn’t a lot of people saying they would come.

Something was mentioned about trying to get together to eat. There is a new Mexican restaurant in Golconda and sources say it is good eating.

Just taking a trip down memory lane, with random pics from high school, class trip and graduation.

It was so good to see all the classmates who came to the visitation and funeral, but just not so great that it was for a funeral.

From the wonderful songs to Tom’s heartfelt eulogy to Jen, to the gentle words from her pastor, it was just a sweet and beautiful service, just like Jen.

Jen looked really good. But it just didn’t seem real.

The peace lilly and the 90 looked so nice. A big shout out of thanks to Poppies, in Metropolis, for doing such a great job!

And at the graveyard, I noticed the top of the vault, wich had flowers and Jen’s photo. I’ve never seen that done before. It was gorgeous.

And my apologies to those that may not have gotten the group text. Apparently with iPhone, you are limited on the number of people you can send a group text to!

Just wanted to provide a quick update. We had a total of 33 classmates who pitched in to get an arrangement for Jennifer’s funeral tomorrow. Thank you to all who helped out with the cost. Anything over the cost of the flowers will be donated to Jennifer’s church, in her memory.
Visitation starts at 11 a.m. and the funeral is at 1 p.m.
Any classmates who are going tomorrow, let’s meet outside between 10:45 a.m. and 11 a.m., so that we can all go in as a group and sit together.
It might be nice if after the funeral and burial, if some of us went out to eat! Just a thought that I wanted to throw out.

Just wanted to provide a quick update on the class page, so those that I didn’t reach out to on the group text could see.

Jen’s obituary says in lieu of flowers to send a donation to her church.

Right now we have 31 classmates that are pitching in for flowers to be sent to her funeral. So the cost per person shouldn’t be terribly expensive at all.

So, initially I thought a scholarship in Jen’s name would be a good thing, but after talking to some people, a suggestion made was to, at some point, (not right now) create a general Class of 1990 Memorial Scholarship that would list those classmates who have passed. So it could honor all those who have passed. A scholarship would involve quite a bit of work, but I would still like the idea. It’s something we can think about and talk more about at a later time

BUT for right now, —> anyone who would want to send extra money, the suggestion was made to take the excess received and send a check to her church in her memory. Does that sound like a plan?

I am hoping to get the flowers ordered tomorrow and after I get them ordered, I’ll have a better idea of how much it will be per person.

There are still a few people I reached out to on Facebook messenger that I haven’t heard back from. Anyone who is reading this who is a class member and still wants to donate, reach out to me by text 618-638-0555.
