Phone Scam Alert – Spoofed Call Using Curry Medical Center’s Number

We want to let the community know that someone reported receiving a call that appeared to come from Curry Medical Center (541.412.2000). In the call, the caller tried to sell a medical device.
This was a spoofed call, meaning the caller ID was intentionally faked to look like it came from us.

A quick reminder that CHN, Curry General Hospital, and all of our clinics—including Curry Medical Center—do not call people to sell products, equipment, or medical devices.

The issue has been reported to the FCC and to our telecom vendor for review.

If you receive a call that seems unusual, the safest approach is to avoid engaging, avoid giving any personal information, and avoid answering questions that could be recorded for misuse. If you receive one of these calls, here is the link to file a complaint with the FCC: https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=39744

✨ A milestone moment for orthopedic care at Curry Health Network! ✨

We were honored to welcome Mr. Craig Shannon, the very first patient to have an orthopedic appointment with Dr. Jose Inzunza on October 7.

Mr. Shannon shared how excited he was to finally be here and said he had been waiting for this appointment. Our CEO, Ginny Williams, thanked him personally for entrusting CHN with his care.

This is just the beginning—bringing advanced orthopedic care close to home, right here in Curry County. 💙

Dr. Stephanie Laudert is relocating her practice within CHN on Monday, September 29, 2025.

And yes, Virginia - there is Hurry in Curry! For those of you who may have received a postcard announcing her move to Curry Medical North (the former NBMC clinic on 2nd St. in Gold Beach), you may recall the anticipated date was October 6.

Instead, Hurrying in Curry, Dr. Laudert will begin seeing patients at CMN, 94180 2nd St., on Monday, September 29.

Orthopedic Care Returns to Curry County!
Starting October 7, Curry Health Network will offer 24/7 orthopedic coverage with on-call support for the emergency department through our trusted partnership with Rural Physicians Group.

Meet the surgeons:
👨‍⚕️ Jose Inzunza, MD – Board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Inzunza completed residency at Westchester Medical Center and a fellowship in sports medicine at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. He most recently served as Associate Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at Jackson North Medical Center in Miami.

👨‍⚕️ Jerod Hines, MD – Board-certified by the American Board of Physician Specialties, Dr. Hines completed residency in orthopedic surgery and a fellowship in sports medicine at McGill University Health Centre in Montreal. His experience spans clinical practice, academic teaching, military service, and orthopedic care in Idaho and New York.

Dr. Jessica Carlson and CHN are pleased to welcome Pedro J. Ramirez, MD, general surgeon, to Curry General Hospital in Gold Beach. With Dr. Ramirez joining Dr. Carlson, general surgery coverage for the Emergency Department is now available 24/7.

Working opposite schedules, Dr. Ramirez and Dr. Carlson provide consistent surgical availability with a two-weeks-on/two-weeks-off rotation that also supports long-term work-life balance.

Dr. Ramirez is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery, trained at Brown University, the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and Johns Hopkins Hospital, and brings years of experience practicing in California, Wyoming, and Colorado. He has a strong passion for serving rural communities and looks forward to caring for patients in Curry County.
