"The man in the chair is Mr. Earl....Mr. Earl lives in the assisted living home next door to the shop, he has a memory disease that if you tell him something today he forgets so if you tell him again tomorrow it's like new information to him....his brother used to come to the shop and pay me every week to cut his hair. Then later Mr. Earl would come and ask me did his brother pay me so he can get a cut, I would always say yes sir your debt is already paid....Mr. Earl's brother died 5 years ago and he doesn't remember, he still comes every week and always asks me is his debt paid....I ALWAYS STILL SAY YES SIR, YOUR DEBT IS PAID and cut his hair....i know Mr. Earl's brother is in heaven looking down watching out for us THATS PAYMENT ENOUGH...some things are better than money....AMEN"

"Today my daughter changed her profile picture. After maybe 5 minutes I get a text ..” I didn’t know she was dating a black boy, did you?”
It took me all day to think up a response, which I didn’t send personally but thought I would share for anyone else that “may not know”
Yes in fact I did know, but the color of his skin doesn’t define who he is. What does define who is he is how he treats my daughter.
I see my daughter dating a boy that comes to my house and shows me nothing but respect (a big deal in my book). It’s always Yes Ma’am, No Ma’am, we talk about football and baseball, he tells me bye when he leaves, and has not once shown me a lack of manners or respect.
I see my daughter dating a boy who treats her good. He takes her on dates, to ballgames, out to eat..not to a club or partying on the weekends.
I see my daughter dating a boy who takes her to church with him. Every Sunday. He plays in the band, she sits with his family. How many young men these days make church a priority? None of the others have.
He doesn’t hit her, cuss her, lie to her, or make her cry. Would I rather her date a white boy that did, to keep from her dating another race? Absolutely not.

So that’s my response to the question I was asked. And I know people have their own opinion, but at the end of the day, the fact that my daughter has someone that loves her and treats her like a queen makes me happy. That’s something I’ve never had in my life and I’m glad she does."

“OKAY, I just saw the most amazing thing today. I was waiting for my prescription at Walgreen, and I noticed this man was picking up his medicines. He is asking how much they are, and starting to get nervous about the price. The total was $170 and the pharmacist asked if he would rather only get one month of his medicines instead of 3. “THIS lady next to me walks up to them and says: NO, he is getting all three months and pays for his bill. I was walking out of there with tears in my eyes, what an amazing woman…”

"We had a homeless veteran come into the dealership today asking to shine salesman's shoes. He only charged $5 for a pair. Each sales manager (3) & our GM gave him a $100 bill and didn't ask for change. Our service manager asked him if he wanted a job in detail. He starts tomorrow. Life lesson of the day: work hard."
