We’re celebrating National Handwashing Awareness Week with a refresher on proper handwashing technique! Handwashing is a key tactic in preventing the spread of common illnesses that are known to circulate more easily in the winter, like the flu and norovirus.

Another tip for helping limit viral spread? Avoid touching your face, including your eyes, nose, and mouth, excessively.

Flu season kicked off in October when annual spread picks up, but it’s not too late to get a flu shot! And what better time than National Influenza Vaccination Week, December 1-5?

While it doesn’t completely eliminate your chance of catching the flu, a flu shot helps prevent serious illness from the disease, which sends hundreds of thousands of people to the hospital yearly, according to CDC estimates.
