The next Clinical Rock Climbing Therapy training dates are out! This course requires 5 weekly meetings, 3 hours each week, starting May 15 and continuing each monday evening until June 12th. The in person intensive weekend is Friday June 16 - 18 and will be hosted in Golden, Colorado. Housing and transportation will be coordinated according to individual needs.

We are thrilled to be offering this course again. This past summer we hosted 8 participants from across the US, learned about trauma informed care, created and experimented with interventions, and learned how to fully integrate climbing into the work we already do. Participants included PhD level practitioners, recreation therapists, mental health therapists and private practice owners. Cohort 2 will benefit from their feedback to create an even more immersive experience.

Doing some genealogy research and discovered I drove right by the birthplace of my great great great grandfather while I was in Norway. So grateful I got to visit and learn about the place so many of my family members came from. The concept of family, belonging and place are so essential for our spiritual and mental health. Take some time to write out part of your “story” - you might know a lot or you might know very little - just write about where you came from. Notice how grounded it fees when you connect to the root system of history. If you are struggling with family ties, connect to the place of your birth. Learn it’s history, ecology and geology. How did the wildness of the space where you were born influence who you are now? Don’t forget, even cities have wildness as the geology, climate and landscape influence it’s character. Give your self this gift and go into 2023 solid, grounded and connected.
