I was asked today about my Reiki practice and it gave a chance to really think about what it means to me. What do you think?

I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2009 and after finishing treatments I was a little lost and trying to find ways to help myself with the rest of my healing. I Discovered yoga and Reiki and both helped more than anything else so I opened a studio and became a Reiki practitioner to help others find their healing. I have been practicing Reiki for 9 Reiki Master for 8 years and work with many different clients going through many different things including emotional, physical and spiritual healing. Reiki is a relaxation technique that allows the body to fully relax. We walk around with our body pulled in so tight, it takes all of energy to keep us holding it together and moving forward. Reiki allows the body to relax and release and once it fully relaxes, it has the energy it needs to heal itself. I have worked with clients going through many things ranging from recovering from trauma, cancer, infertility, anxiety, and depression. My hope is to give their body, mind and spirit, the space to feel safe so it can relax and begin the healing process.

In this time of what feels like darkness-do not be afraid to shine! We need to take a collective breath, remember to be kind, take care of each other, put love out into the universe, and shine. Be the light so others can follow-the world needs you. Much love ❤️

I woke up today wondering if I am still following the right path. Then the Universe answers by sending me a new client. 2019 had brought her lots of loss and trauma. She wasn’t sure what to expect, from her first Reiki appointment but she was ready to start fresh. She also said she would probably cry. My answer is please do! This place is safe and you are loved. After the session she sat up smiling-instead of crying. She said she could breathe deep again, feels so much lighter and she already feels changed. Life changing were her words. She left with some tools to keep the energy flowing and scheduled her next appointment.

Reiki represents a healing process that will focus on the human intention to heal another with touch. This method is included in the hospitals now, and it is offered.

Then there is this information-proof that the body carries information of the past generations-good and bad. Can we heal that? Can we make it better for the next generation? Yes we can. The point is to realize where it comes from and release what we can for the next generation. Yes, Reiki can help heal ancestral pain and yes we are born with pain that is not ours to carry and yes we can make it better for ourselves and the next generation. Thank you science!

The most important set of genetic instructions we all get comes from our DNA, passed down through generations. But the environment we live in can make genetic changes, too.
