Your scalp is skin… so why are we only washing it once a week?

Between pollen, oil, sweat, and product buildup your hair collects a LOT throughout the day.

When you go to bed with dirty hair, it transfers straight to your pillowcase and then right back onto your face while you sleep.

If you’re dealing with breakouts, irritation, or congestion this could be a missing piece.

• Wash your hair more consistently
• Change your pillowcase 2–3x a week
• Keep hair pulled away from your face at night
• Wear a bonnet if needed

Erythema after acne is one of the trickiest concerns to treat and one of the most misunderstood.

That lingering pink or red mark after a breakout isn’t an active pimple it’s leftover inflammation and damaged capillaries sitting in the skin.

This is why aggressive treatments, over-exfoliating, or constantly picking can make it worse and prolong healing.

Erythema is often the hardest part for people once the pimples go away because it feels like the acne is still there. It takes time but it can go away!

One of my favorite relaxation techniques ✨

Did you know scalp massage stimulates multiple acupressure points across the scalp?

This helps ease tension, calm the nervous system, and encourage the release of endorphins, your body’s natural “feel-good” hormones.

It’s also why, as kids, we’d ask our grandmother to scratch our head. It instantly made us feel relaxed and calm.

It’s amazing for clients who carry stress in their head, and it often helps reduce tension-related headaches.

This is Blue LED Therapy 💙

Blue LED emits light at an acne-specific wavelength (~415 nm) designed to target C. acnes bacteria within the follicle.

It works by activating porphyrins within the bacteria, helping reduce bacterial activity and calm inflammation without heat or damage to the skin barrier!

Because this device makes direct contact with the skin, it delivers concentrated light energy for more efficient treatment compared to distant panel systems.

I love incorporating LED as an add-on for my acne clients!

My first couples facial event was everything I hoped it would be. Watching each couple relax, laugh, and sneak a couple peeks at their partner enjoying the experience was the sweetest thing. 🥺

Sometimes your skincare products don’t seem to absorb because there’s a buildup of dead skin cells creating a barrier. Look at the amount of dead skin in this picture!! When that happens, even great products can sit on the surface instead of penetrating effectively.

A new client of mine was experiencing this, and dermaplaning made a big difference! Once that excess dead skin was removed, her products began absorbing much more quickly and effectively.

If your skincare doesn’t seem to be working the way it should, even if it’s professional grade products it may simply be a sign that your skin needs proper exfoliation to reset and allow those products to do their job.

exfoliant uses smooth, biodegradable particles designed to gently encourage healthy cellular turnover while protecting the skin barrier. The other brands rely on irregular, sharp particles such as walnut shells. This can create micro-tears, trigger inflammation, and disrupt the barrier especially for acne-prone or sensitive skin.

Healthy exfoliation will work with the skin, unhealthy exfoliation with work against it!

Non-inflamed acne can’t clear until it surfaces, which is why this type of acne can be so stubborn and tricky. Purging and temporary inflammation are often necessary steps to move congestion out of the skin.

Purging is proof the process is working! I’m so thankful for this client for trusting me and staying consistent with their home routine!!
