Wayne Radiologists is proud to offer Low-Dose CT (LDCT) Scans – a powerful tool in the early detection of lung cancer, when it's most treatable. According to the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force and leading radiology societies, annual lung cancer screening is recommended for individuals who meet ALL of the following criteria:

• Age 50–80 years old
• Have a 20 pack-year or greater smoking history (that's a pack a day for 20 years, or two packs a day for 10)
• Are a current smoker, or quit within the last 15 years

Only 26.6% of lung cancer cases in the U.S. are caught early – yet the five-year survival rate jumps to 63% when it's found at this stage. Unfortunately, 43.4% of cases are not detected until later, when survival drops to just 8%.
