🌟 Provider Spotlight: Laura Pacek, PA 🌟

Born and raised in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, Laura Pacek grew up with a strong faith in God and a deep example of community service from her parents. That foundation led her to healthcare at an early age.

The summer before 8th grade, she became a Candystriper at her local community hospital—a service project she continued through high school. From helping patients to assisting nurses and doctors across multiple departments, she learned early on what compassionate care looks like. Those experiences confirmed what she already felt in her heart: she was called to become a Physician Assistant.

In 1995, she moved from Pennsylvania to Cuero, Texas, in search of warmer weather—finding not just sunshine but also a community she would serve for the next 30 years. Throughout her career, she has cared for patients in Bohman Clinic, Nixon Family Practice, Yorktown Medical Clinic, and has supported several others including Cuero Medical Clinic, Goliad Family Practice, Kenedy Family Practice, and Parkside Clinic. Over the last five years, she has also provided Home Visits for homebound patients, ensuring they continue to receive compassionate, consistent care.

Specializing in Family Practice, she is known for her heartfelt approach to medicine. One thing that sets her apart is her willingness to pray with patients when the opportunity presents itself—offering comfort that extends beyond the clinical.

We are grateful for her decades of dedication, her unwavering compassion, and the grace she brings into every patient interaction. Thank you, Laura Pacek, for serving our community with kindness, faith, and exceptional care.

🌟 Provider Spotlight: Lorie Vernor, MSN, APRN, FNP-C 🌟
Goliad Family Practice

From a young age, Lorie knew nursing was her calling. Inspired by the compassionate care shown to her older sister during a difficult time, she vowed at just 12 years old to one day provide that same level of care to others. Today, she is living that promise every single day.

Lorie became an RN in 2006, beginning her career at Detar Hospital on the Med-Surg floor. She then expanded her skills in dialysis, long-term acute care, and wound care before earning her Master of Science in Nursing from Texas A&M in 2021 (and yes—she’s a proud Aggie!). Her journey has taken her through Victoria NP Clinic and the Texas Cardiovascular Institute, where she continued to specialize in wound care.

In December 2023, Lorie found her home with us at Goliad Family Practice, bringing a wealth of experience and a genuine passion for caring for people. She has quickly become a trusted and valued provider in our small community.

💬 In Lorie’s Words:
“I have always known that nursing is my calling. Taking care of my patients is the most rewarding feeling I have ever experienced in my life. I love what I do and I can't ever imagine doing anything else.”

We’re excited to welcome Dr. Philip Suarez, a Board-Certified OB/GYN with nearly 40 years of experience, to our Outpatient Specialty Clinic. He is now providing a full spectrum of gynecological services from preventive care, hormone therapy, to advanced surgical procedures so you don’t have to travel far for quality care.
