The upcoming snow potential is looking a little clearer as we are forecasting mainly light amounts for the area with the potential for highest amounts mainly across eastern Colorado. Rain Thursday will transition to snow Thursday evening and throughout the day Friday. Be aware for blowing snow Friday AM as winds gust up to 45 mph.

Kansas Day is quickly approaching! The Kansas Museum of History will be hosting a FREE in-person event featuring live performances, demonstrations, and educational activities. Stop by on January 29, 2026, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to take part in the event!

We kindly ask that any educators planning to take school groups please fill out a registration form in advance - https://forms.office.com/g/1aLFYrHTMc.

If you can’t make it to the museum, you can watch live sessions during the Kansas Day Edventure program hosted by Wichita Public Schools. Staff from the museum will be hosting two programs about Famous Kansans and Kansas Symbols at 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

Admission to the museum will be free on January 29, 2026. For those wanting to avoid crowds, we suggest visiting later in the afternoon after 3 p.m.

We still are monitoring the potential for a storm system late week. Confidence in at least gusty winds remains high with this system.
