The town of Ashby has been evacuated due to a fast-moving fire. Several fire departments have been called for mutual aid including Gordon and Rushville. Gordon's fire chief says several structures have been burned. The Hyannis High School is available for shelter.
The sheriff's department was also planning to evacuate all of Hyannis, but officials say the wind shifted.
