With hands busy and hearts full, our residents spent time knotting blankets for FirstLight Mission in Goshen. This local mission serves the unhoused in our community, and we’re grateful to be part of sharing warmth, fellowship, and compassion. 🧶✨

🎉🎂 Our monthly birthday party at Evergreen Place was an absolute blast! We had so much fun celebrating the birthdays of Wilmer, Shirley, Susan, Elsa, Mary, Ruth, Elton, Carol, Beverly, Pete, and Joe—what a wonderful group of people to honor!

A special thank-you goes to Jory Umble, a Goshen College sophomore majoring in Nursing, who shared his love of music with us and provided the entertainment for the afternoon. His reason for performing truly warmed our hearts—he said he hopes that one day, if he’s in a retirement community, someone would come sing for him too. 💚

Moments like these remind us how meaningful community, music, and connection can be at Evergreen Place.

Yesterday, our Greencroft Goshen residents gathered at the community center for a truly special celebration as we welcomed our new Community Vice President, Kim Harden. The turnout was wonderful, and the room was filled with warmth, connection, and excitement.

We were also grateful to have our CEO, Hugh Davis, his wife Suzette Davis, and members of our leadership team join us for this meaningful time together.

Moments like these bring the Greencroft mission to life—creating community, fostering connection, and enriching the lives of those we serve. Yesterday was a heartfelt reminder of the power of coming together in fellowship and shared purpose.

The other day, our assisted living residents at Evergreen Place were treated to a special musical visit from Phillip Everingham, “The Steel Cowboy.” He played many familiar tunes that truly resonated with our residents, bringing joy, memories, and plenty of smiles.

Our residents were thrilled to have him back, and the music filled the space with warmth and connection. Moments like these make Evergreen Place feel just like home. 💙

As we continue our Monthly Volunteer Spotlight, we’re delighted to shine a light on someone whose dedication spans well over a decade — Dottie Kauffmann.

Since October 2011, Dottie has been an incredible source of support, positivity, and service across Greencroft Goshen. Over the past 14 years, she has shared her time and talents in an extraordinary variety of roles. From serving on the Communications Committee, supporting the Parkinson’s Exercise Group, joining the Walking Club, and delivering mail, to taking blood pressures, greeting residents at the Community Center front desk, helping with Homestead activities, welcoming visitors at the Wellness Center, serving as a tour guide, and so much more — Dottie’s influence is truly felt campus-wide.

Her willingness to step in wherever she’s needed, combined with her warm and gracious spirit, has made a lasting positive impact on our community. We are deeply grateful for the countless ways she adds joy, care, and connection to life at Greencroft.

Thank you, Dottie, for all you do! 💙🌿
