Gardeners, Farmers, Land Stewards are always Futurists.
If someone is giving you the idea that any of the following is inappropriate right now because ** gestures to all the violence, and the total lack of accountability ** please don't listen to them.
Resistance to despair and the cycles of violence has always included
feeling the slightest bit hopeful, planning your Garden, celebrating life, investing in true wealth as health, critical thinking as a survival skill, making plans with friends, participating in mutual aid and other cooperative action, changing your mind as you unlearn / learn new to you things, listening to Veterans and active duty personnel and what their experiences teach us about the differences between patriotism and nationalism - amongst other things, centering the voices of those who LIVE the experience we are learning about,
and Community Supported Agriculture! You can support as many Farms as you possibly can and really should! There is no brand loyalty when it comes to Food and Medicine! But there are ethics and standards of practice that absolutely must be understood, and integrated.
It's always best to get radicle --- right to the origin. This includes where your food and herbs come from: an actual Farmer practicing organics and regeneratively.

From Hurricane Helene, to LA fires, to occupation in MN - I am deeply dedicated to growing the best Plants by centering THEM and refusing to be another herbalist who doesn't know the Plants intimately, or some other version of extraction and commodification of sacred beings and the highly honorable and huge responsibility of caring for others, through caring for Land.

Because we need more Herb Farmers and Land Stewards and folks rooted in the culture and tradition, not more LLCs and AI written books or armchair learning.
Because we need all of us - healthy, empowered, and building the alternatives, our future, right here and right now, together.
