Here’s what we learned along the way:
1️⃣ Plan your layout before anything else.
Where the benches go, heater placement, and storage space will save you headaches later.
2️⃣ Insulation
Poor insulation = uneven heat, wasted energy, and unhappy sauna-goers.
3️⃣ Ventilation matters.
Steam needs to flow, or you’ll end up with soggy wood and foggy glass.
4️⃣ Leveling is critical.
Even small slopes can make the sauna feel off-balance and affect the heater’s performance.
5️⃣ Pick the right materials.
Cedar or hemlock wood resists heat and moisture better — plywood shortcuts just don’t last.
6️⃣ Expect small, daily maintenance.
Wiping glass, checking screws, and managing condensation is part of the job — embrace it.
7️⃣ Customer experience > perfection.
Clean, cozy, and warm beats flawless construction. People remember how it feels, not how perfect it looks.
