🖼️ The Voices in Colors for Social Justice event will take place Sunday, February 22nd at Center for Healing & Hope from 3pm-4:30pm. Free to attend, all are welcome. See the works, meet artist Francisco Ávila, and hear the stories behind the exhibit.

Original pieces and prints will be available for purchase with a portion of the proceeds donated to Center for Healing & Hope.

We were honored to have been chosen as a finalist for the 100 Women Who Care Elkhart County and Community Foundation of Elkhart County Galentine's Giveback event.

As the event unfolded, the three finalist organizations were surprised to learn that each would receive a $10,000 contribution to support their respective missions!

Center for Healing & Hope is incredibly grateful to be in the thoughts and hearts of changemakers in our community. Thank you 100 Women Who Care Elkhart County and all who voted for our organization! We're excited to use these funds to help improve the health and wellbeing of our community.

The Center for Healing & Hope

Our mission to care for uninsured, vulnerable and under served neighbors in our communities has shaped our work since we began in 1999.

Mission

The Center for Healing & Hope provides medical and advocacy services in a Christ-like manner to meet people's needs in our community.

Vision

We are a welcoming place for affordable health care and immigrant services, engaging volunteers and community partners to promote the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of those we serve.

We'd like you to know

1. We are an urgent care center for the uninsured, the under-insured, and those with unmet health care needs in our community.

2. We are a faith- and hope-based outreach that works with community partners (churches, businesses, not-for-profits) who share the commitment to serve our disadvantaged neighbors in Christ's name.

3. We do our work in two languages: Spanish and English. Workers who speak both languages—or interpreters—are always available.

4. For people with no access to the health care system, we provide compassionate and quality care and then help connect them with other services they need.

5. We advocate for our immigrant neighbors, and help them find resources to meet financial and medical needs.

6. Care in our clinics goes far beyond treating injuries and illnesses. We also connect families to resources such as housing, food, and counseling services.

7. Our clinics and immigrant services are provided mostly by volunteers: doctors, nurses, chaplains, registration staff, greeters, cashiers and interpreters.

8. Because we depend on volunteers, we can keep the cost of services affordable. Costs for a doctor visit are affordable, and some assistance is available for medicines and other services.

9. We have many students from area colleges who choose to do their nursing, medical assistant and social work internships with us.

10. There are more than 10,000 people without health insurance in our county. Our patients tell us that without the Center for Healing & Hope, 40 percent would go to an emergency room for treatment, and another 40 percent do not know where they would go.

11. We were founded on the belief that if churches, community and medical providers work together, all our neighbors can have access to quality care.
