Teachable moment: Red light therapy is NOT LASER therapy. Though both fall under photobiomodulation (see pic below) they are very very different.
Laser Therapy (Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation)
Light Type: Coherent, focused laser beams (Low-Level or High-Intensity).
Application: Highly targeted, precise beams.
Depth: Can pe*****te deep into joints, tendons, and muscles (especially HILT).
Best For: Deep tissue pain, chronic injuries, arthritis, specific musculoskeletal conditions.
Pros: Powerful, precise, excellent for deep conditions
Red Light Therapy (RLT) - LED-based
Light Type: Non-coherent light from LEDs (Light-Emitting Diodes).
Application: Broad coverage, often in panels, masks, or beds.
Depth: Superficial (skin, fat, muscles).
Best For: Skin rejuvenation, wrinkles, acne, hair growth, systemic inflammation, general wellness.
Pros: Non-invasive, great for large areas, suitable for home use.
