During these trying times, people can tend to get depressed or anxious mulling over the "unknown." What is going to happen? When will this end? Will things ever get back to normal?
Remember that although it is easy to get bogged down in these thoughts, try and reframe your thoughts to more positive ones.
Instead of what is going to happen? When will this end? What IS happening in your life right now? Are you warm, do you have food, shelter, your family? When you look out the window what do you see? Can you see sunshine? Rain? Flowers? Trees? Can you hear birds or a breeze? Can you feel sunshine or raindrops? Be mindful in the present moment; take in the beauty of just being alive.
If you wonder "will things ever get back to normal" maybe you should realize that normal is a relative term. Maybe things are normal to the homeschooling housewife, maybe not. Maybe things are normal to the person that suffers from agoraphobia..... Of coarse to most this is NOT normal living, worrying about someone not being six feet apart from you, wondering if you put on enough hand sanitizer before you push your shopping cart. But, would it be so bad if we had a NEW NORMAL? Like spending more time at home with family because work doesn't have to take up all our time. Maybe having cookouts in the backyard or game nights with the kids. Our normal has become so infiltrated with the outside world that we have forgotten that the most important normal for us all is in relationships. Make this time the beginning of a new outlook on life. Set new goals, become a new you.
God is our Strength and our refuge. In Him, I will find peace.
