We believe in transparency.

Henry Ford states “Teamsters members called off 5,872 times between Jan. 1 and Aug. 18, 2025.” This is a misleading number. This statistic uses the phrase “Teamster members” instead of “registered nurse”. Teamsters represent registered nurses, case managers, licensed practical nurses and techs. Henry Ford is not clear if this number includes FMLA or disability related call ins as well.

We have a very different number to report

Between Oct. 2024 and Jun. 2025 there were 1,972 registered nurse call ins. This equates to 2.6 per registered nurse. This number refers to the true amount of call ins and does not include FMLA or disability related call ins.

We want to recognize two incredible people—Glen and Shirley Fitzpatrick. ❤️✊

At a time when we were being pushed to move and uncertainty was high, they stepped up without hesitation. They opened their yard to us so we could keep our tents up and continue this fight. Because of them, we held the line.

Glen and Shirley didn’t just give us space—they gave us strength, support, and a reminder of what solidarity truly means. They stood with us when it mattered most and treated us like family.

Glen was the kind of man who showed up for others without question. And Shirley, right beside him, just as strong and generous.

We are forever grateful for them and the role they’ve played in this fight.

Glen may no longer be with us, but his kindness and support continue to live on through this movement. We are so grateful to you, Shirley, for opening your yard to us and standing by our side with such unwavering support. Your generosity means more than words can express.

This is what solidarity looks like. This is what union strength looks like. ❤️✊

Part of what the union is asking for, in regard to patient ratios, is language in a new contract that makes it so Henry Ford is more likely to follow their contract. Henry Ford has stated that “staffing ratios in our proposal remain consistent with union’s previous contract”. This may be true, however, without language to keep Henry Ford true to their contract, the result is another year full of grievances when they require us to go over our supposed contracted ratios.

Note: these are only the reported grievances. It is likely the true number of times Henry Ford broke their contract was much higher

Beautiful day on the strike line today! We love to see the sun after the harsh winter spent advocating for patients and nurses for the last 221 days. Pizza was provided for lunch today from a community member. Also, thank you Tim, for you generous donation towards our cause!
